The best side scroll shooter EVER!!! Destroying enemies builds up money and you can buy new jets and weapons. And holy crap this game is hard!!! There is so much replay-ability for this game though! Awesome to play for hours!!!

This is, in my opinion, the best fighter plane game i have ever played. I played it when I was really young and I used to rent it every weekend. I found it on Ebay and I bought it.

Popular in arcades, you can choose from one of three characters each with their own strengths. For instance once increases your damage, another has more health, and another is more agile. As you complete missions (or fail them but destroy lots of enemies in the process) you earn cash. You can use the cash to buy new weapons and fighters between missions.

One of the best side scrolling shooters for the SNES. Highly recommended!

Capcom created a masterpiece in this port of the 1988 game "Area 88". There is plenty of game play action, plenty of levels, and enough fun to keep the player involved for hours. Controls are responsive and feel exactly as they should.

The greatest oversight of this game is that the developer overlooked the ability to save progress during game play. While it is not implausible to finish the game in one evening, it can be a nuisance if one would rather play for shorter periods of time.

Overall, this game gets a 5/5. The play is paced well, and it is highly addictive. For any fan of the genre, and for most gamers in general, this is a must have game.
