"The Harry Shuffle" was nominated for the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Country Instrumental Performance. "Two Teardrops" was nominated for the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Country Song. On TWO TEARDROPS--his first post-"comeback" album--Steve Wariner explores a broad range of musical styles. Few artists are as gifted as Wariner, and TWO TEARDROPS gives him ample opportunity to show off his talents as a singer, guitar player, and especially as a songwriter. The most successful tracks are the ones in which Wariner uses his gentle voice and restrained guitar playing to tell an emotional story, as he does in the outstanding title track. It's a brilliant, beautiful piece of songwriting in which two teardrops--one of joy and one of pain--are used as metaphors for the "circle of life." Two other songs in this vein are "I'll Always Have Denver" and "If You Don't Know By Now"--heartbreaking stories of love that has faded, and of love that will never be returned. Wariner shifts gears for upbeat tracks like the punchy "Hands Of Time," and "Talk To Her Heart," a duet with Bryan White. He rounds out the CD with a version of the 1996 Kenny Loggins pop hit "For the First Time," and the jaunty instrumental "The Harry Shuffle." TWO TEARDROPS proves that Wariner's "comeback" wasn't just a fluke. Editorial Reviews Entertainment Weekly (05/07/1999) | Find errors in the product description? Review created: 04/17/00 by: scbelle -- a member of Epinions Pros: Many Great Songs! 15 in FACT! Cons: None I bought this CD for the popular song, "Two Teardrops" and got a nice surprise. It is packed with great listening songs. Artist: Wariner, Steve Release date: 05/04/1999 Genre: Country Record label: Capitol/EMI Records Songs and My Thoughts Of Each: 1) Hands Of Time Wrinkles? Me? You are only as young as you feel, so get up and boogey with this two-stepping, fun song! 2) Two Teardrops Chart Topper! One of the cutest songs I have ever heard. Who would of thought of writing about teardrops in this unique fashion. Great Idea! 3) You Be My Everything Love to hear a man begging for a woman to be his everything. I can picture him on his knees, just a begging for her hand in marriage. 4) I'm Already Taken A day late and a dollar short, haven't we all been there at least once in our lives? Lovely ballad. 5) I've Been In That Movie He is relating to other's heartbreaks since he has been there, done that. 6) If You Don't Know By Now One of my many favorites on this CD. So sad to think he is broken hearted about an indecisive woman. His beautiful voice really shines through on this song. 7) Talk To Her Heart Listen up guys! He gives some great advice here. When it comes to love, it hasn't changed. With or with electricity, you have to talk to her heart. 8) So Much Line dancing tune! Reach out and touch someone! 9) I'll Always Have Denver A real tear jerker about a love that is over. They tried it all, trying to make it work, but it just wouldn't work out. 10) That's Love For You Explaining his love and devotion for his love. 11) Cry No More Starting out with a guitar solo, and moving into a sweet high pitched tune about trying to get the lady to put her sadness in the past and stop crying. 12) Since You Walked Away Trying to get over his lost love. Nice beat to this song. 13 For The First Time Ballad about the first time he is seeing his new love in his old love. Another Chart topper. 14 Tattoos Of Life Some experiences leave scars for life. This song tell you all about what you learned throughout the tough times. 15) The Harry Shuffle Country jammin' time! Great picking! Guitar solo that will get you up shuffling your feet for sure! Overall rating Great CD to add to your collection. Not only does he sing, but he is something else on the guitar. I would buy this CD all over again.
