Koontz' Goblins...

This isn't as easy-flowing as most of Dean Koontz' works. If you're used to getting hooked by page 1, opt for another Koontz book. But if you stay focused, a plot does work out nicely and keep your interest until the end.
Slim is a troubled youth that has deemed himself the savior of the human race. He has the ability to see demons, or goblins, hiding within the human form. A violent childhood sends him running to stay anonymous, furthering his fight against evil.
The story begins with him finding a large carnival for employ. A murderous event keeps the character's paranoia paramount from page to page. The author easily develops likable characters, which will keep you turning pages for fear of their lives.
Some graphic sex, this book may not be completely suited to lend to your twelve-year-old! Overall, a worthy read. Though not one of Koontz' best, definitely entertains.
