Funny and witty, with a good story line.
Stephanie steps in to help Ranger find a killer and a kidnapper when someone close to Ranger disappears, a body turns up, and Ranger is suspected of murder. I loved seeing Ranger and Stephanie together and wished for a little more at the end. The tension between these two sizzles and burns. The best part is we get to learn a little more about Ranger in this book and see a whole new side to Ranger. Morelli and Ranger are both wanting a little more of Stephanie and when all three are in the same room the testosterone takes over. There is also a little romance in the air for Lula.
I loved the book, however, the two downsides were that this book was a bid shorter than her past books. I read in a just a couple hours. I wished it contained more! The other part that bugged me a bit was that I thought it was high time for Stephanie to become a bit more competent at being a bounty hunter.
I love this series and can't wait for book number 13.

Two alpha dogs, one Stephanie, makes a PERFECT READ!

"Twelve Sharp" is an extremely funny book and much better than the last Stephanie Plum book, "Eleven on Top". Maybe not as good as some of the originals, but holds one of the top five spots for sure! Most of the regular characters are included: Stephanie's parents, Grandma Mazur, Stephanie's on and off boyfriend Joe Morelli, Lula, Connie, and Sally Sweet are all there. I personally was thrilled that Janet Evanovich gives a little more insight into the mysterious Ranger's private life. He is so yummy and this makes him even more human and well his "babe" just gets better and better! Evanovich adds a new character, Melvin Pickle, who brings a lot of fun to the book. Some of the captures that Lula and Stephanie make are wonderful, typical screw ups that make you laugh till it hurts. Evanovich wisely ditches some of the tired plot lines such as Stephanie's car always being blown up and breathes new life into other plot lines - especially an incredibly funny scene during a wake. Yes Grandma is up to it again! When Ranger and Morelli BOTH move in with her...well ths takes the book to new heights! The book is hilarious, even the tension filled ending has laugh out loud moments.

A wonderful read.

If you're not laughing out loud by Page 5 you're just not with the program.
This is such a hilarious book. The interactions between Stephanie and Lula are so funny, and her interactions between Ranger and Morelli are just mind-boggling. Stephanie is a bounty hunter with a great attitude.

I love her books, and can hardly wait for each one to come out. She's got such a tremendous gift for fun, and the dialogue between stephanie and everyone else is really terrific.

I heartily recommend this book to everyone who likes to laugh!!

Evanovich is still at the top of her game

Twelve Sharp is yet another great installment in the Stephanie Plum series. While I was a little disappointed in Hard Eight and To the Nines, the last three books have more than made up for it. In Twelve Sharp, we get to see a lot of Ranger/Stephanie/Morelli interaction. Grandma Mazur and Lula are still as crazy as ever. The plot line in Twelve Sharp is a very personal one and is not quite as carefree as some of Evanovich's earlier titles. For those who have followed the series, this is a welcome change as it (finally) reveals a little of the inner Ranger. This is poignant at times, but it still has plenty of her trademark humor to keep you smiling and laughing your way through the mayhem.

Just finished this book. Only downside is it's a little shorter than the previous Stephanie Plum books, I read it in a couple of hours. Great because you get to learn a lot more about Ranger. Grandma Mazur was wonderful, didn't get to hear alot about the rest of the family in this installment. Very funny and well worth any price you pay. I am looking forward to number 13. I wish we could get Stephanie to finally decide which man she is most interested in. You are kinda left wondering at the end of this one.

  Laugh Out Loud Funny

As usual, Janet Evanovich delivers. One page in this book had me laughing out loud and laughing again, when I read it again. Of course, it involved Grandma Mazur.
The love triangle between Stephanie, Morelli, and Ranger continues, which you would think gets tiring, but surprisingly does not.
I am looking forward to Thirteen. Maybe Stephanie will be unusually unlucky (more so than usual, that is).

  Twelve Sharp...a disappointment

First off, I LOVE the Stephanie Plum series...I read them all over and over. Twelve Sharp doesn't seem like it was even written by Janet Evanovich. It was very short...large font, lots of spacing. But the fun and the endearment of the characters wasn't there in this book. While, I still enjoy "the triangle", in this book, the normally wonderful Ranger has taken a turn. His daughter is kidnapped, Joe is kind and wonderful to him, but all he seemed to do in the book was look for ways to have sex with Stephanie. He was more in tuned to that then the grief a father should have over having a child kidnapped. Stephanie seemed whiny and one-dimensional. Valerie and Albert are absent. Grandma is more a distant remnant, than the fun lady. This book doesn't feel like it is written by Ms. Evanovich, and I know because I have read all the other books at least 5 times. It feels flat and churned out, rather than thought out. Joe hardly even figures in the book. The fun of Rex and Bob is basically down to a couple lines. This feels more like the uninteresting Metro Girl, than our beloved Stephanie and crew.

The best book I have read since Eleven on Top. I wanted to take my time and savor it because I knew that there wouldn’t be another number book for a while, but I couldn’t put it down!! I devoured it!! It isn’t essential to read the earlier books to enjoy this one, but I would recommend it, as I think it gives a better understanding of the characters and their relationships to each other. Plus, after you read one you’ll probably want to read the rest anyway. Can’t wait for the next one!!

I received this book about 5 and finished it by 12. I absolutely loved this book and couldn't put it down. The first couple of pages was background, as if we hadn't read the first 11 in the series, but after that it was typical Stephanie Plum. It has been a long time since a book had me laughing so hard I was crying, feeling bad for some of the characters, and seeing it all as if I was watching a movie instead of reading. This was one of those books that I enjoyed but can't give specifics without giving away too many of the details. Believe me, you don't want the details before you read this book.
Anyone who doesn't like this book, either hasn't read the first 11 or needs to read it again because they missed quite a bit the first time.

I recently read this book, it took only 2 nights, another wonderful Stephanie Plum book. I think Janet Evanovich needs to write a little faster, there's a long time between books now. Anyway, this book is one of the better ones, hot, steamy, more sexual than the previous books, but just as much fun! Overall, a great read!!

love this series. I can hardly wait for new ones to come out. My only complaint is that as the series progresses it seems as if the print gets larger and the books get shorter. Come on Janet we wait at whole year between these...lol. Anyway she didn't disappoint us on the suspense or the steamy chemistry between Stephanie and ranger. And as always you gotta love Joe. Grandma was kind of sidestepped but still played her hilarious part. Lull was hilarious as always. Can't wait until next year! Keep them coming.

The author never fails to give me a good laugh. Her cast of characters are well described, and nutty as they come.
I'd love to see her books turned into movies or a TV series, but WHO WOULD PLAY RANGER? His character is almost mythical in stature. I've always pictured Estelle Getty as Grandma Mazur, and "Ev'one loves Raymond's" parents as Stephanie's.
I buy her books with out reading the "blurb", because I KNOW IT"S GOOD.
If I have a complaint, it's that she doesn't write MORE often!!

I have absolutely loved each and every one of the Stephanie Plum books! Each book that Janet puts out is better than the last and I only wish she put out more than one a year. Hopefully the movie will be made! My father and my son-in-law even wait anxiously to read and laugh out loud when I am finished. Can't get enough and they are quick reads.

  Twelve Sharp

THIS is Janet Evanovich's best book yet. It moves along at a good clip and does not rehash old information like in the first books of the Stephanie Plum series. Those books, you could almost start at Chapter 4 and not miss anything because you're just reading the 'same old stuff' carried over from the previous books: 'I'm Stephanie Plum. I'm a bounty hunter.' Yes, we got that in Book 1. Plus those got boring with Stephanie and Lula doing the same stupid things over and over again from book to book. I was getting very irrated that they didn't LEARN from those mistakes early on. Don't get me wrong -- her books ARE funny. I've had some sections on earlier books where I've laughed so hard I had tears and had to re-read a segment something like 3 - 4 times, still cracking up, to get past it and move on. Grandma Mazur is up to her old tricks at the (formerly Stiva's) funeral home -- now run under David and 'Scooter' -- who know only too well about Grandma Mazur's reputation. Sally Sweet appears as well. This book has a more 'real feel' to it.

Finished this book a couple of days ago. It was great. I think the way that she leave us hanging about stephanie's relationship with ranger and john is great. If you have not read a evanovich book you SHOULD! They are great. I wish number 13 was out already. I just love this series. I wish this book would have lasted a little longer. but that would mess up the greatness that book 13 is going to be. Loved it. If you want a good read . BUY THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!

I loved Twelve Sharp, after her last book I thought it was time to end the series, but this one changed my mind. I couldn't read it fast enough. I still wish she would have Stephanie marry Joe, but then the series would have to end! If you haven't read it yet, hurry up!

Great book for the avid Evanovich readers!

Her continuing compilation of books just get better and better. I couldn't wait to read it and was not disappointed!

As usual, the characters are as normal as can be with typical quirks that most people are in denial to admit they have. The plot had twists and turns that Evanovich creates to keep the reader from putting the book down.

I especially was caught laughing so very hard when I read the section with Gramma getting dressed up for the Band rehearsal with Lula and Sally. My husband couldn't figure what was wrong with me...and I couldn't explain for a while either.

I heartily recommend this book to any and all readers who need a great mystery to read, like to laugh, and enjoy reading about people!

The book stayed consistent with its predecessors. It was a quick, enjoyable ready. I would definitely recommend the entire series by Evanovich. She keeps is light and simple and the books have a way of taking you away for a while, which I know is always a good thing. Stephanie continues to keep us wondering who she will choose when it comes to the steady cop or the dark avenger...
Pick this one up today and enjoy!!

I have all of the Stephanie Plum Series and this by far the VERY best. Ranger Joe morelli Lula, and Grandma Mazur make this book. Stolen identies are very common now and this book really brings out what can happen and the comedic moments in this book are priceless. Evanovich writes so graphic that you can picture everything in your minds eye. The best book in the series if you haven't read any of them before be sure and start with one and work your way up to twelve.
