I think this is the only warm, human movie Mel Brooks ever made, and I loved it. Brooks is a hero of mine. The relationship between Ron Moody (Fagin in the flick of "Oliver") and the (beautiful) young man is perfect. The ending was great. A (skinny) Dom DeLuis was of course funny. Don't expect Brooks' usual style, but I think this was a good movie. Brooks himself was in it, and HE was Brooks' usual style! His parts were very funny. One note. They do not tediously go though each of 12 chairs. It is much better than that.
