Movie Description Kenneth Branagh has tackled many of Shakespeare's works during his time a an actor and director. His 1996 version of HAMLET was lauded for its faithful replication of the Bard's vision, but Branagh had already taken a stab at directing some of Shakespeare's words prior to this, with 1988's TWELFTH NIGHT. The story takes place in the aftermath of a shipwreck, as twins Viola and Sebastian crawl from the wreckage. A confusing and comedic tale subsequently unfolds, with Viola disguising herself as a man, and finding affection in some strange places. Shot for British television, Branagh's TWELFTH NIGHT is a welcome addition to the oeuvre of screen adaptations of Shakespeare's works.
