"A game that focuses completely on multiplayer"
I believe this game is suppose to be a kind of spin off from Turok 2: Seeds Of Evil, but for some reason this game just lacks something. I am not sure exactly what it is, though. There is just something to it that does not make me want to come back to it.

Graphics: 8/10
The graphics are good as long as you have an expansion pack for your Nintendo 64. This allows the game play nice and smooth. Without it, this game just isn't as great. I would have to say that you defiantly need an expansion pack for your Nintendo 64 to be playing this game.

Gameplay: 8/10
The gameplay is all right. You have the classic Turok style of playing. Also the controls are not too hard. Sometimes it is strange to do things, and some things don't seem correct. The whole game is played like it is a multiplayer game. There are different modes you can play. Also you have several different characters to choose from that have their own abilities. There are different guns that you choose your person to have as well, instead of having the guns placed in the arena, you choose different guns for your person, and then when you pick up that gun type, you will get that gun.

Story: 1/10
This game doesn't have a story. At least there is not one that I know of. It doesn't really matter, though, since it is suppose to be just a multiplayer game or at least played just like one.

Sound: 8/10
The sound is clear and great. You can hear all of the sounds of battle and gun firing well. They sound rich and good enough for me.

Replay: 2/10
The replay value on this game is very far down there. I played if for about a week and then it started to feel like the same thing over and over again and I just couldn't play it anymore. I just got really board of it. I think this is what this game lacks. There is just no replay value here. After you have done it, then everything else in the game feels the same. It is all right for a while, but then it just gets really boring. There is nothing new in the game after awhile.

OVERALL: 4/10
(Based mostly on replay value and also on gameplay)
This game is alright for about the first week that you have it, then it just gets really boring. If you want to play a Turok game, I would suggest Turok 2: Seeds Of Evil. Overall I would suggest Perfect Dark, though, since I find that game to be the best first person shooter that I have played before.

  turok rage wars
Review created: 07/23/09

for what it is, turok rage wars is a blast. it's got no true single player mode but it was designed to be a multiplayer game from the ground up. the graphics were decent for its time however the levels themselves are a tad too dim. this can be corrected by changing brightness however. moreover the levels are not well designed, at least some of them seem that way. the single player trials allow you to unlock different characters and the multiplayer is afrag fest. the game is shy of perfect darks' greatness mostly due to bot retardation at times.

  Torok: Rage Wars
Review created: 02/06/09(updated 02/06/09)

Bought thinking it is the original version like I was requested to buy from my boys. This one is very different according to them. The original defeats dinosaurs and has a bit more to offer for the player. This one is a watered down version of other shoot'em up games but has more zombies than dinosaurs. Depends on who you want your enemy to be!

I bought it for my Husband. He wanted it.I don't play it though. My husband and son play it. My Husband says Turok 2 is way better than Turok 1 and 3.
Turok 3 had very good graphics though. Turok 1 had very bad graphics.

Pros:
great for 2 players.

Cons:
not fun during the day. only 4 characters. annoying chanting.

Up until now I dismissed all shoot-'em-up games as cyberidiotic testosterone fests. So, what if I'm' still right? I don't know how on earth this game got into our house full of Donkey Kong, Mario Kart, Zelda and Wave Race. For god's sake, my stepmom won't allow the kids to watch the Matrix (too late), but has no problem with them shooting each other in a Quake-like similation. Turns out, neither do I. I haven't played a video game in 5 years, and it shows. Turok allows you to play multiplayer trials or battles, but the battles are the most fun. There are 4 characters to choose from. One Army..

  Killing in the Name Of
Review created: 03/26/00
by: manga -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
fun, challenging, good for multiplayer

Cons:
bug in 2 player trials, not as immersive in single player

Turok Rage Wars is perhaps the most interesting of the first person shooters that are available for any platform, except possibly Quake 3 Arena and Unreal Tournament. Rage Wars continues in the tradition of the previous turok games in its gameplay and weapons arsenal, but this game is definitely suited for multiplayer use rather than single player enjoyment. Therefore, there is relatively little story in the game to make playing it with a single player very interesting. In fact, the only reason to use single player at all is to unlock other characters in the game to use in multiplayer mode....

  Oh, what could have been...

Pros:
pretty good graphics, fun multiplayer...for a while

Cons:
Most modes are just silly. Can't compare to Perfect Dark

On a recent trip to my local Blockbuster store, I perchanced upon a copy of Turok: Rage Wars priced at $10.00. I heard the game wasn t that great, but being a fan of first person shooters, as well as multiplayer games, I figured I could easily milk ten dollars worth of play out of it. While I m sure I got my ten bucks worth, I still feel disappointed by Rage Wars because it could have been so much more. The original Turok had no multiplayer features, and its sequel had an extremely c-h-o-p-p-y multiplayer game, so it came as a surprise that Acclaim would release a game based entirely...

  A lacking multi-player that can't hold it's ground
Review created: 10/30/00
by: NMD85 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Decent multi-player only game, if yet lacking too many details

Cons:
Very lackluster, too many competitors these days

Acclaim brings on the what I call "checkpoint" to the long awaited Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion. Of course with Turok 3 now available, and Perfect Dark, it seems this game is left far off into the dust. Last Christmas, the world was introduced to the multi-player only, Turok: Rage Wars. Some called it "Turok 3" (hence they were wrong later when Shadow of Oblivion came out Fall 2001). I simply call it Turok 2.5, or Turok Checkpoint-to-3. Acclaim didn't fulfill my Turok hunger, and this game purely felt empty and not worth the $59 price tag at the time. Let's get to the low down... GRAPHICS: A+..

  "Rage" Against the Machine? No...
Review created: 06/22/00
by: stony45 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Great Graphics, Huge Variety of Everything, Fun.

Cons:
A Bit Difficult at First

Calling all Turok fans: the newest and best in the series is here. Turok: Rage Wars is a fast-paced, heavy-hitting, kill-em-all game that you can't stop playing once you start, it's pretty hard to stop. I'm not sure if this follows the story line of the Turok series, but it doesn't matter. There are a bunch of play modes in RW, including solo missions, two-player team missions, and of course, multiplayer. Once you choose which mode, you choose your character, team (two-player and multiplayer only), and your five weapons of choice (two-player and multiplayer only), and blast away. The solo...
