Turok: Evolution (PlayStation 2, 2002)

It has a lot of adventure and suspense. It is a little bloody in the beginning and when you die. But, my son is at the age to understand that this is just a game. He wanted the game after playing it at a friend's house.

Very exciting game! After getting past the first few minutes of wandering around a jungle, familiarizing myself with the controls, and trying to figure out the point of the whole thing, it started to grow on me. By the second level the excitement started to build. As I gathered ever more powerful weapons and the challenges became more difficult, I realized how captivating this game was. The flying sequences interspersed break the monotony, what there is... and are quite realistic. Overall rating: Excellent!

THIS GAME IS A MUST HAVE FOR ANYONE WHO LOVES SHOOTER GAMES . NOTHING BUT CARNAGE AND THE GRAFICS ARE COOL . FOR A OLDER GAME IT STILL HOLDS IT'S OWN. I WISH THEY WOULD COME OUT WITH ANOTHER ONE . I LIKE THE GAME A HOLE LOT. MOST GAMES THAT I BEAT I DON'T PLAY AGAIN BUT THIS ONE I THINK I'LL PUT AWAY FOR AWHILE AND THEN PLAY IT AGAIN ON A HARDER LEVLE . MUST HAVE GAME !!!!

Ok, lets get this out of the way, no, its not better than Dinosaur Hunter, Definately not as good as Seeds of Evil (my personal favorite)or Rage Wars. However, I liked it better than the Turok 3 game. Controls are tricky, but like most games you get the hang of it fairly soon, and there are levels that I loved, like flying the big prehistoric bird, pterrodactyl..or however you spell it..Now, whether to buy it or not? Well if you're a Turok fan, you'll probably still want to play it..even if its just once..but if you're looking for the same level of coolness and challenge as Turok 2, wellllll...you're going to be bummed..I bought it, played it..and would never get rid of it..but like I said, Im a big Turok fan...'nuf said..

This game is very cool but after you own it for more than 5 days it gets very boring multiplayer is better than single player because it not hard like single player and not as surprizeing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A little hard to play when you can't see the character your playing (you can only see your hands and what weapons you have out) but the graphics are very nice.

I have a 10 year old son, and we had this game for our game cube, but our game cube has been acting up. He loves playing this game, and since we also have a PS2 I thought I would get it for him to play on that. I have not played this game myself, but my son and his friend love it. Lots of dinosaurs and adventure.

I use to own this game until it got stolen so i knew what to expect from the game. It stays true to the turok gaming experience. It's a fast paced First Person Shooter(FPS), with mass amount of differnt weapons and abilities. Advanced AI with good response, open enviornments with roaming dinosaurs. All together a fun game with replay value.

I bought this game for my son. He had played it at a friends home. He likes the two player mode, but he rated the game as average for one player. He stated that some of the worlds dont make any sense and they seem impossible to beat.

The game held his attention and he played it almost non-stop for several days. He did not like it as much as King Kong.

It is rated M, but you can turn the gore off. I think the game was worth it for under $15.00.

Turok Evolution is a great game! The idea is refreshing, a native american guy was drawn into a different time, different place, where Dinosaurs and lizard aliens roamed the planet. Naturally you need to shoot them all. The graphics are good for this year (2002) some glitches though: you can walk through objects at times. The weapons are great, I liked the most the arrows with their add-ons: the poison and the explosive arrows with the zoom-in sniper-option. Riding the dino-bird is a cool aspect of the game however it is a difficult one as well; maneuvering this big creature between, above and under the falling rocks and buildings is a challenging mission.
The blood and gore look almost real.
I love shooting games that's why I got this game, I also read good reviews and decided to give it a try and I am glad I did.

I bought it for my son he loves this game he likes to shoot the dinos it is just a fun game all the way around

We actually play it more in deathmatch than anything tho. I have 3 daughters, ages 10, 11, 12, and they play this thing atleast 3 times a week, and have for over a year now. Granted, they play only the deathmatch, but hey, any game that can keep 3 kids entertained for 18 mos straight has got to have something good about it!!!! (especially when you consider that they are girls playing what most would cinsider to be a "boy's" game.)

Myself, I played the regular scenario, and would agree that I would have liked to have had more dinos, and less enemies. There just becomes a point where this game is TOO freakin hard and it's just pointless.

Like I say tho, of the games we have played deathmatch on, this HAS to be the best. I just wish they had more tracks to play it on. It's such a hoot!

definitely, no other game in our extensive library of games gets more playtime than this one. I doubt if you picked 5 of our other games, they still wouldn't get played as much as this one. We love it!

I really got into playing this game. The graphics are good. I wasn't to sure about the graphics at first, if I should let my son play the game but after playing it I decided it wasn't as bad as some of the other games he's played. I don't think it should really be rated "M".

Your level of interest in Turok: Evolution will be very much contingent on your interest in past Turok games. Aside from a few minor issues, this latest installment is pretty solid all around, but it doesn't bring many new ideas to the table. In the end, Turok: Evolution is a bread-and-butter console shooter that will let you blast enemies to your heart's content, but not a whole lot else. If that's good enough for you, then go for it. It isnt a Terrible game but its bugs,very hard difficulty and very long load times make this game fairly unenjoyable.Some levels have a habit of taking away certain weapons you had which is weird.The game is long but you probably wont finish it since it gets so hard later on.You lost too much health when falling which is strange because you would never lose health by falling in previous turoks unless it was a cliff.The Graphics are a mixed bag.The framerate is mostly smooth and the enemies look decent but the textures are extremely bland and muddy looking and some lack even the most basic amount of detail.

This is alittle on the hard side, and its kind of boring!! you don't see much action in this game..

We bought this one for th dinosaurs cause we thought there would be alot of dinosaurs but it had like a couple.. And it was soo Bloody I wouldn't buy this one for little ones its abit much for little eyes

This game is pretty good. You can have alot of fun playing it. The only problem is it's always the same people you are killing. They just get better. This game is worth buying but make sure you do not spend more than 15 dollars. The possitive side of this game is that its a classic. If you love dinosaure action I would definitely recommend this game. I played multiplayer on this game and wasent fascinated. Though it is an amazing single player game. I love the sick weapons you get during the game. You will enter a world of carnivaurs and mass destruction!

Very reasonal price and very action packed game. Very exciting to play.
I bought it because I saw it on Ebay and had never heard of it. I was surprised at the live action packed advehnture although i do not recommend for younger children. Mostly for adults or late teen players.

This must have been one of the first games Playstation made. Had a hard time with one------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is defiantly a big turning point for me as i remembered in FPS (first person shooter) games it was quite awhile ago that it came out and i know that it isn't up to date with graphics but there not bad enough to bother you and what it lacks in graphics it makes up in great gameplay (same as Turok 2 did on the nintendo 64). This is the last Turok game to have a vast array of weapons where as the new game Turok for the Xbox 360 & PS3 lacks in weapons and all over is not as fun as the older games but makes up for some of that with beautiful landscapes. Before you buy any of the other games (besides maybe Turok 2 seed's of evil for N64) i recommend this game. Not into dealing with lower end graphics and not on your new favorite system? well then go for the new Turok it's still worth it to at least rent it.
