The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen (2006, Paperback, Reprint)

I stumbled upon Sarah Dessen while I was in ninth grade-almost five years ago.

Sarah Dessen is an extraordinary author. She has a supreme talent in the way that she writes--she draws you into the novel and makes you feel like you are the narrator (in this case, Macy), and you know everyone introduced to you.

I read this book in two days and as soon as I finished it, I turned back to the first page and started all over again. Macy lives in a restricted world--her mother is an uptight real estate agent, her brainiac boyfriend leaves her over the summer while he participates in a "Brain Camp", and Macy's older sister has been able to escape the life that Macy is stuck in. Macy meets an eccentric group of people from a catering company, and they sort of adopt Macy into their lives. Macy is able to be free when she's with them (including the guy that captivates her, Wes).

This book is very real and readers can relate to the situations, which says something about the author as no one is able to accomplish this goal. 5/5.

This book is an excelent book. It makes the reader want to read and read and read. It's a real page turner. Everyone that reads this will be able to put theirself in macy's shoes at one point in the story and be able to relate to her. Sarah Dessen has such a great way with her writing that it almost seems as if you are in the story when you read it. This book is a great read for teens and young adults. This book is about a teenage girl, named Macy, who strives to be 100% perfect. Her boyfriend goes away to "brain camp", which is a camp for smart people and whatnot, and over the summer her feelings start to change about him when she meets Wes, who is a sculptor. Macy meets Wes at a dance type get together while she's with her friends from the catering job. Over time she becomes very attatched to Wes and not so attatched to being perfect. She discovers that being 100% perfect isn't all it's put up to be. Around the 4th of July she quits her job at the library in order to have more time to cater. There are some twists and turns in this novel that make the reader wonder whether Wes and Macy should really be together or not. You'll just have to read it to find out! =D

I really love this book, it's awesome. I recommend this author to anyone; she's very diverse, funny, and smart. Love it!

MACY MEETS AN EXTRAORDINARY GUY NAMED WES WHOM SHE BECOMES CLOSE TO. MACY MUST DECIDE IF HER PREVIOUS LIFE WITH JASON IS WHAT SHE WANTED OR IF THE CATERING JOB AND WES IS WHERE SHE WOULD RATHER BE. ALONG THE WAY MACY HAS TO DEAL WITH NOT ONLY HER OWN PROBLEMS BUT ALSO HER MOTHER, THE LOSS OF HER FATHER AND ALL THE PROBLEMS THAT FALL ALONG THE WAY. AN EXCELLENT READ FOR TEENS OR ANY AGE GROUP. A REALISTIC AND TRUE STORY OF HOW AN AVERAGE TEENAGER'S LIFE CAN GO FROM ORDINARY TO EXTRAORDINARY.
