I just finished reading her book and was totally satisfied with what I read. I bought the book with the intent of reading about fun parties, socialites, extremely wealthy young people, and light entertainment...Nothing heavy!! I am definitely not a huuuuuge Nicole Richie fan (although I like her way more than Paris) but after reading this book, I have more respect for Nicole and am happy that she decided to write this book. It was entertaining!! For those of you that thought you were going to read some extremely intense, life-changing novel that kept you on the edge of your seats, its your own fault for not knowing better. And for those of you that haven't even read the book, shame on you for passing judgment on something you know nothing about!

  Tabloid style "fiction" novel

I bought this book because I am a Hollywood obsessed tabloid junkie. I heard that this book reveals the inner dynamics of the young Hollywood elite, under the guise of a novel. "Fictitious" characters are actually real ones. I was pleasantly surprised at the gossip that was dished about Nicole's so called friends and speculated that most of the events that occured to the main character actually happened to Nicole. It was certainly funny to hear the Paris bashing, since I am not a fan. I appreciate Nicole's humor and lingo and as such, have picked up tips on how to emulate a teen queen. The actual novel lacked the basic essentials of a quality novel which is why I refer to this reading as comparative to an extended version of Us magazine. It's certainly a different form of literature. It supplies a minor escape from drab existence to an exciting pampered princessy life. It's good reading for the purpose of gossip and becoming temporarily part of the in crowd.

It was a fun and easy read and gives you a great look into Nicole's life. True a lot of it is fiction but you can easily tell what she went and goes through as a CELEBUTANT!

This book was very easy to read! it was a "ficional" sory of Nicole's "Best friend", and how her life changed in a moment. It tells of the parties, drugs, drama and everyday life of socialites in Hollywood. I know its fictional but it just makes you wonder???..... I am not a HUGE FAN but I like Nicole better than Paris, lol. DONT JUDGE A BOOK FROM ITS COVER, ITS A GREAT READ.

Although this book does not flow perfectly, Nicole Richie suprised me by this book. Obviously is not a writer, but for her first book she didn't do too bad. If you like the celebrity scene, you'll like this book. I don't think she has admitted to putting actual people in this book, but it is so obvious that she did. I wouldn't admit it either if I would have published this about my "friends."

I just finished Nicole Richie's book The Truth About Diamonds and I must say I thought that it was fabulous. It was entertaining and and well written in true chick lit fashion. I loved how she wrote the story from her POV as the main character's best friend. Defintly worth checking out.

Worth the purchase if you are a Nicole Lover/Fan

Well this is a pretty good book considering Nicole wrote it. And for all those people who say she didn't write it, well it sounded to me like she really did. I mean yeah sure she had some editors to edit it and make it sound proper but overall it is a good book. Nicole making fun of Simone (supposedly Paris Hilton) is hilarious. You have to know a little bit about the "hollywood" life of people to be able to understand this book. I like the way the book is centered around normal people who happened to have rich parents. It is not about a celeb's rise from rags to riches but more like a story of some teen hollywood friends who were rich but not insanely famous, who got high like regular teens, and did things that teenagers would do. It is NOT AT ALL RECOMMENDED for anyone over 23. It is worth a good time pass but don't expect any "moral" at the end. To me, it was worth the money I paid for it because it did have some cute and pyschic "Nicole" shots in it and it was pretty good but it just doesn't have what it takes to keep a reader glued to the book like many bestselling books. As for Nicole, I think she did a good job but it was missing an important element... I am still not sure what it is. Good luck finding it out while reading the book...

  So so.

I bought this thinking it was Nicole's biography, but that's okay. It's not a bad novel, but it's pretty repetitive. She made herself one of the characters, but she's not the star. If it weren't for the word 'like' being used every third sentence, I'd like it a little more.
