This is a movie that was well done in very good taste. I believe that Harry Truman was a very good man who really cared for the welfare of the American people. It took alot of guts for him to make the choice to drop the bomb. Some men could not have done it. I am proud to have had a leader like him. Mike

) This was one of the most enjoyable DVD's I have ordered. I fact, I had first seen it in VHS and wanted to make sure I had a copy of it when the videos are dinsaurs, so I bought the DVD. Good, clean, entertaining and a wonderful look into history.
A simple man with great idea. Honest. His wife Bess, was never never happy with politics so she stayed home.
I would reccomend this biography to everyone.

A President with a Strong Backbone
) Gary Sinise was an excellent choice to play Truman and Diana Scarwid, played the role of Bess Truman was just as good. Truman showed a real President-with guts. The issues that Harry S. Truman faced back then, did not cause him to cast blame, make idle threats or put this country in an embarrassing situation. Presient Truman faced his opposition and did not back down from them. I enjoyed this movie.

) This movie depicts the life of President Harry Truman from his pre political day to the end of WW2. I thought it was a fantastic move, superb acting and fairly close to historical accuracy. You can see how the Presidency has changed since the end of the war until now. Highly recomended.

) Gary Sinise is great in the acting lead role as Truman. Office of President of the United States was/is not an easy. Truman had many tough decisions much like what President Bush has had to during his term. Truman had many people second guessing his decisions as well. I recommend to for all that love history and love political science and how government works. Something for everyone.

TRUMANA VERY GOOD movie about the life of the 33rd president. Clear, concise and never a dull moment. Great cast of actors, especially Gary Sinease as the president. This is TRUE American history that should be seen by all! AA++

I saw this movie when it first came out on cable in the '90's.(WOW!time flies!).I'm a bit of a history buff anyways so I had to buy the movie.After seeing the great performance given by Gary Sinese,I couldn't have been happier for purchasing it.From salesman to farmer to politican,Mr.Truman proved one is capable of achiving anything if they have the heart to do so.I was surprised to see how history has forgotten the achivements of this overlooked president,(sounds alot like Mr. Ford huh?)It is sad to see that his country and history did not recognize the hard work of this great man when he was alive.Signing one of the first civil rights acts,leading the country through a forgotten war,etc.Maybe it is man's nature to do so,what ever the case,Mr. Truman was given his due in this movie.This is the kind of movies hollywood should be making not mindless entertainment that they think people will rush to the threaters to see.If I had to say one thing I didn't like about this movie it would be that it was too short,(but that's just me).Overall,if you want a good movie that educates also,TRUMAN is the movie for you.
