True Crime: New York City (Xbox, 2005)

ths story line is very in depth. we start out with markus all bloody going into a thug house at the begging of the game soaked in blood and looking for vengence. you will be surprised that the first 4 minutes of game play is all out shoot outs with very distructable enviroments with massive blood shed and screaming hood rats that are literaly half naked. sounds promising already. you will then go into a tutorial which is oddly simple for the most part, but a little of the glitchy side, not too bad though. the game is all about the gta franchise with side missions, buying clothing for your charater, sleeping at a local run down cheap hotel just to restore strength and buying your own custom sound tracks at any record stores. of course being a game thats attempting to be to realistic in alot of ways, since you are a cop you get a paycheck ever so often from your police station to help pay for goods. the more good deeds and good cop stuff you do, the higher the paycheck. then you could pull the billy badass and sell drugs to pawnshops. hold up the burger joint and harass the manger for sweet green by gun point to his head. the drving scheme is the exactly the same as gta. the only defference is there is a icon with your car on the screen that indicates where it has taken damage. kinda like the game distruction derby for those who remember. even when people decide its open season on your vehicle is shows where the gun shots is. this game has it all. but the game has some skips and glitches on it that can be over looked very easily. if you can find this title for under 20 bucks and a realy big gta fan, you will be shocked how good this game is. it had very realistic graphics, very interactive enviroments, over use of the f bomb and body count city. if your looking for somthing thats just gore fest 3000 try a game like bloodrayne 2 or suffering ties that bind, if your wanting somthing to retry the gta kind of pace, then this is it. i give it a 4..... out of 5.

Let me start by saying I am a huge fan of the True Crime series but the second installment just sucked balls! This game could have been great, this game could have given Grand Theft Auto a run for their money but due to many, many glitches it can’t pull it off. Yes it is better than Streets Of L.A. New York City never looked better in a video game. The sound track was great, the storyline and voice talent was good but the first day I started playing, the game froze on me four times within three hours. That’s not all, sometimes when driving around the city my radar/map would disappear for more than 30 seconds at a time leaving me lost. In certain mini games, you have to crouch down or hug the wall and the result was my character being stuck. (Objects around the city were moving just not me)I had to save my progress almost every time I got a new upgrade out of fear the game would freeze up again.(And NO! it’s not my Xbox) The bottom line: This game should have never made it out of development as fast as it did. Too many bugs and glitches ruined this game. It had a good story, better depth and it was fun to play but that just was not enough to warrant a purchase. My advice is avoid this game. The development team should hang their heads in shame.

over all the game is good. To many cuss words if you ask me. As if there over doing it to make it more cool. Sometimes hard to see whats going on because its too dark during the night time part of game. Have played this game on xbox and ps2. better on the xbox.

I liked how fast it shipped and how cheap it was. The game I bought had a couple scratches on it, but it was used.

So many of the game reviews are picky. One of the biggest complaints about this game has been that it is the same old thing. Just like Grand Theft Auto. I LIKE IT BUT IT TOOK TO LONG TO GET HERE. AND I PAID FOR THE 3 TO 6 DAY AND I GOT IT 2 WEEKS THERE WAS NO POINT OR PAYING FOR THAT.

This game has a great storyline to it. You can go into most buildings you see and buy stuff or hold up the clerk. Its much like grand theft auto but you can sell your evidence to pawn shops. Fun game!

This game is beyond awful. The plot is interesting, the soundtrack is okay, and there are lots of things to do around New York City, but the game is so glitchy it's nearly unplayable.

The game freezes...a LOT. You may get stuck somewhere two or three times in a single hour of gameplay. The minimap has a tendency to disappear while you're driving, which is especially bad in a timed mission.

And then there are the graphics. My personal favorite were the semi trucks. Whenever a semi approaches, the trailer levitates about two to three stories off the ground while it's in the distance and then snaps back down to earth when you're in few car lengths. It's absolutely ridiculous, and it shows just how little quality control there was when this game was being developed.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from this game.

I wouldn't know if I like the item, because I never received it. I would liked to have played it so I could tell you if it was a great game or not, and in what condition it was in. But like I said, I never received it.

I love this game it is very fun, suspensful and some of the game is even hard. I had True Crimes streets of LA and I heard about this one, this one is more advanced then streets of LA and it is fun, there is violence and profanity so it may not be for a child under 18 years of age.
