True Compass, well at least from Teddy's perspective

I bought the book because I enjoy historical perspectives. I find Teddy remarkably self-indulgent and self-aggrandizing, especially with his treatment of Jimmy Carter. I think the attention he paid to Chapaquiddick was ridiculously small, relating only how Mary Jo being tied to him romantically in death bothered him. How about walking away from a drowning woman? While Bobby had real political savvy and aspirations for this country that didn't involve nailing the middle class for everything and anything, I really find Teddy's perspective a bit skewed. His cavalier account of his first wife Joan and his lack of detail and perspective regarding his candidacy turning interview with Walter Cronkite..it is weird how nobody remembers history the way a Kennedy can remember history. When referencing his night out with his son and nephew that ended with his nephew being accused of rape, he basically bemoans his poor luck in asking the boys to accompany him to a bar...like the nephew wouldnt have raped the girl if he hadn't gone out with Teddy that night?? I got the book yesterday and I finished it today. I would only recommend the book if you buy it on Ebay for a highly reduced price.
