Everything is great in this movie!!! The actors the battle scenes, the music, I love this movie!!!!

Didn't See This One In the Theater... when it came out, so checked it out when it was released on DVD.

I mainly wanted to see it for Eric Bana's performance, as I had seen Eric earlier as Bruce Banner in the Incredible Hulk movie.

The story wasn't exactly like the poem it was based on, but it was an ok period piece movie.

Won't be back for a second viewing though...

Excelent movie on every level and of course the guys are gorgeous. What nobody has mentioned is the women's clothing and jewelry. Spectacular, darling!

This is a good pic that is probably the best representation of the Trojan War on film outside of some classic that is out of date and in black and white. This movie is star-studded and full of action. It does tend to drag on a little bit in some places but eventuallys picks up in large battle scenes. The DVD comes with an extra bonus disc that is full of extra footage and bonus material. Brad Pitt and Eric Bana lead this cast of all stars! Check it Out!

THIS IS A GREAT MOVIE. AT FIRST, I WASN'T SURE I'D LIKE IT, BECAUSE OF IT BEING A MOVIE ABOUT ANCIENT TIMES, BUT BRAD PITT, AND ORLANDO BLOOM GIVE A GREAT PERFORMANCE. THERE ARE ALSO A LOT OF GREAT BATTLE SCENES, AND A WONDERFUL STORY LINE.

Troy is an outstanding portrayal of Homer's epic even with major deviations from the original Iliad. Captures timeless issues related to diverse reasons soldiers go to war, their loyalties, and the impact on their loved ones. Brad Pitt excellently shows Achilles' transition from empty self-absorption to humanity, and Eric Bana is outstanding as noble Hector. All supporting cast are exceptional. Shows the greatest individual battle scene ever (Achilles v. Hector) which is emotionally tied to the reactions of Hector's loved ones. The moving scene with Achilles and Priam alone is worth seeing this extraordinary film. An epic - one of the best movies of this genre. I saw this movie several times and at each showing the audience seemed gripped by the intensity.

I absolutely love this movie. I was lucky enough to be able to see this when it was in theaters, and it was amazing on a large screen. I have since then also purchased the movie for my collection, it's just a must have.

This movie is about the classic Greek legend of Achilles. It tells the story of the fight between the Trojans and Spartans that starts over just one woman, Helen the Queen of Sparta. Paris, one of the princes of Troy, takes Helen along with him back to Troy. This infuriates King Menelaus, and his brother Agamemnon convinces him to go to war with Troy and kill Helen. They recruite Achilles, who is the best warrior in Greece. Achilles agrees because he wants the fame that will come out of it, he wants to be known throughout history as a hero. There are a few duals, as well as some bloody fights in this war. There is a fight for love between Paris and Menelaus. There is also a fight between Hector and Achilles. The action in this movie is incredibly done. Very impressive.

The cast is amazing as well, it includes: Eric Bana, Orlando Bloom, Brad Pitt, Sean Bean, Peter O'Toole, and Brendan Gleeson.

This is one of the best historical movies I have ever watched. It's just great. All the elements are available; power, love, honor ....

I rate this movie as excellent because I thought that Brad Pitt did an excellent job in it and that I preferred the Trojan horse scenerio in this movie to other versions. And let's not forget that Orlando Bloom was an added talent to the movie.

Brad Pitt is one of my all time favorites. I missed Troy when it was making the theatre rounds and knew I had to have the DVD-sight unseen. I'm very satisfied with the movie and my purchase. It took me a couple of different trys to get this movie but it was worth it.

Eric Banna is Hector. Brad Pitt is Achilles. Orlando Bloom is Paris. The scenes play out like an epic, timelessly. The magic is two-fold, perfect casting and the magic of myth living through matinee idols.

What else can one say about an epic adventure with an all-star cast. Brad Pitt plays the legendary Achilles, not concerned with material gain, he fights for one purpose, his legacy. Co-star Eric Bana gives an excellent preformance, torn between the sanctity of his empire and his brash younger brother.

Troy, is more about human nature, than the two city war which made it famous.

I love historical films and this one is excellent. The scenery and the battles are awesome. Story line is interesting and keeps your interest. Great actors help.

Not only do you get Brad Pitt, but you get the gorgeous Orlando Bloom to drool over while watching this fantastic movie! An outstanding, spectacular retelling of the Iliad.

Although not entirely faithful to the Iliad (the movie notes "inspired by"), Brad Pitt is the definitive star and shines in his portrayal of Achilles. His fans will find everything to like: plenty of closeups on his pretty face showing grim determination, suppressed sadness, hollow-eyed surprise, etc., plenty of skin showing his buff body, plenty of action highlighting his graceful run, spear-throwing arm, etc. Stalwarts like Brian Cox, Peter O'Toole and Nigel Terry give solid performances as well. There's nothing better than respected English actors to lend weight to a sword-and-sandal epic.
Eric Bana is the only "newcomer" with any grit, however. The rest of the younger set (Orlando Bloom, Diane Kruger, Saffron Burrows) is pale and limited in range in comparison to the seasoned actors. Their scenes together slows the action considerably.
Filmed in Malta and Mexico, the setting is panoramic and majestic, worthy of Cecil B. DeMille.
All in all a satisfying movie for those willing to enjoy a good epic without too many requirements of literaly translation to the screen.

A great period piece. Lots of eye candy, and yet real meat of the story was great! And wow has Brad Pitt ever looked better?

This movie just was not what I expected. I saw a movie years ago that was based on the sam thing. I think it was much better done than this movie. I know that most people liked this movie but it did not appeal to me. I bought the movie based on how I liked the old movie.

IT GIVE ME A DEEP THOUGHT ON HOW AND WHAT WE DO IN LIFE CAN CHANGE IN AN INSTANT. LIFE HAS ITS FUN YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN DAY TO DAY. THERE ARE SO MANY TWIST AND TURNS.
