A liberal view of history. OMG Pitt is the man in this movie, is he buff lol. Great scenery and visuals. Amazing action, and good story. Timeless storyling that never gets old hearing and watching . Leaves the others in the dust so many sword and sandal movies this season! Great cast and stunning effects. A good watch in 420/ 720 but in 1080P too die for .

Well, i have enjoyed such past battle films such as the kingdom of heaven and braveheart. I will rank troy up there as well, Brad Pitt portrays the great warrior Achilles in all his gory and beauty (lol) that is deserving of such a role. The story line along with the other hidden stroylines takes nothing away from teh film itself unlike Pearl harbor,. Recommend this film to anyone who likes battles and history.

like how it is somewhat historically accurate. also hector's and Achilles' speeches are brutal definately would not have been motivated by them to fight. like the domino effect of one action led to another

I had watched this movie several times on some of the premium cable channels and enjoyed it then. The acting and fight scenes were superb, as well as the relationships that developed. One of the things I really liked is, this is the directors cut, which has additional footage, and "behind the scenes" analysis. Also, the definition with the "Blu-ray" technology exceeds anything I've seen before.

It is something else to watch movies on blue ray, there are seens throughout the disc that are crispier and just plan sharp in color as if you were there ! I was weary about having to restock many of my favorites, at this rate It is worth the price!

I watched part of this movie once on t.v awhile ago and didnt think it was all that. Boy was I wrong. This is definately one of my favorite movies ever. At first I didnt think Brad Pitt would be good in that kind of role but again I was wrong. This movie has some amazing fighting scenes in it that makes it more than just a watch. Its a must-own!! I highly recommend you go out and purchase this movie if you havent seen it. You dont know what your missing.

I rated this movie Below Average relative to the original Troy, which was excellent. Troy, in my opinion, has been somewhat destroyed with this version. There are plenty of new scenes in the movie, which are a plus, and there if i'm not mistaken it looks to be a little more gory, however the music. . . the music score that the director placed through this movie in his cut has ruined it. The original Troy, during the fight scenes you only hear the clanking of shields, the swinging of swords, the beating of feet against the ground. The way a brilliant fight scene should be. Music of war. However, in this version there is music, and not just faint music either, there is a loud orchestral score clouding the movie, diminishing the realism of the fight scenes, and exiting you from the movie. It reminds you that you are not IN the movie, you are in the audience, watching a piece of "art."

If you are a guy, and you like watching movies like this and 300 and Gladiator to get pumped up -- stick with the original Troy. At least rent the directors cut before spending money on it, because i feel you'll be let down and out of money.

Wolfgang Petersen has created a massive, intelligent historical epic. Great performances from an all-star cast; Brad Pitt, Eric Bana, Orlando Bloom, Peter O'toole, and others. The Blu-ray transfer is excellent, both in picture and sound. Worth having to showcase a home theater system. The Blu ray version is the director's cut, now slightly over three hours, but the pacing is such that you are continually entertained. Should be on your short list!

i started to buy bluray movies but it was expensive so started to browse and i found that at ebay we can buy it for a cheaper price.good quality for the price.keep up the good sales

Why you bought it: Recently purchased PS3 with Blu Ray. Purchased this item due to enjoying the director and actors line of work, plus this particular dvd has an extended directors cut.

What you like most about it: Great cinematography, extended edition

What you dislike about it: None

Brad Pitt at one of his better "efforts". Support cast outstanding. Time will prove that this is a classic.

Loved this movie at the movies but what a difference in Bluray. I bought it for the uncut action sceens.

Very good movie at a good price. The quality was exactly the way it was related in the description of product.. took a little long for the shipping.

It plays and looks good. Even if the movie is not true to Homer's "The Illiad", the artistic license is not over the top.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching Troy. Brad Pitt did a great job of portraying Achielles as Eric Bana did Hector; to be honest, the casting agent picked his/her people well.

The scenery is stunning (who wouldn't be taken away by the 1000 ships headed to Troy)? The fight scenes were epic.... all in all, if you're looking for a good action movie with a bit of romance/drama, this is the one to get.

P.S.: I bought this movie for the detail only seen in Blu-Ray.

New blue rays. great price, great condition no issues with ship time. Would buy again from seller. Got the DVD in a Week.

This blue-ray has only the director's cut version. It is long with added scenes removing which from theatrical version was a very good thing. I would recommend skipping this blue-ray and buy the one with the original version.

this movie was amazing the first time i saw it, and i saw it had 30 mins extra in the blu ray version which u will notice right away as it has an added beginning to the opening where the two armies meet, plus alot more throughout the film.

its a great movie well put together action scenes, story line was brilliant Brad Pitts best movie where he can use his body as well as his mind

$15 for a blu-ray. I'm going to buy it. Great deal, extended version and amazing graphics,. I"m into history and this film provides a glimpse into a time where REAL history was made.
