Movie Description Throughout evolution, species have had to cooperate in order to survive. Indeed, the whole range of species in any ecosystem must cooperate, if not purposefully, in order for that system to remain balanced or to grow. However, quite often we find examples such as the bacteria within a human intestine, or the mites on human eyelashes, in which each organism benefits from the other, providing food perhaps, or a safe environment, or promoting health. In some bizarre instances, two or more species might become so symbiotic that they actually become almost a third organism, for instance lichens, which are composed of algae and fungus. This program focused on these unique relationships which are often the greatest means for survival.
