Travel Games For Dummies (Nintendo DS, 2008)

Buy it you will like it!

I have 6 different games for my Nintendo DS that I received as a christmas present but "Travel Games for Dummies" is the one that I leave in my Nintendo and take to work for break times and lunch. It is also my faithful companion during bowel movements...lol.

Sudoko - how can you go wrong. When you pick on a box to enter a number you have the choice to enter using a little virtual keypad that pops up or you can handwrite the number. Either way works good. There are settings from easy to hard. It is easy to enter temporary numbers that you think might be the correct answers and it is also easy to enter the numbers that you are certain to be correct. I bought the game for the Sudoko and like it.

Solitaire - This quickly became my favorite. There are 10 or 12 different types of solitaire to choose from, most of which I had never heard of but not a problem. There is a tutorial mode for each game with clear instructions utilizing both the upper and lower screens of the nintendo ds. After reading the instructions you can play the newly learned type of solitaire in the Hint mode. During the hint mode you can ask for hints...pretty obvious. The hints light up the card to be played and the area where you should place it. After going through the tutorial and hint modes you are completely qualified and prepared to play in the "Game Mode", this is where the real fun begins! For now my favorite solitaire game is Canfield, yep I had never heard of it before but it is fun and challenging. Somebody gave this game plenty of thought and should feel proud of creating it.

Crosswords - you don't have to be a genius to do them but if you select the Hard setting you had better be one. The hints appear on the top screen of the nintendo and the game is on the bottom screen. When you tap on a box on the bottom screen the hints automatically change to those for the box on the upper screen, accross and down. Pretty slick. You enter the letter by tapping the one that you want in the alpahbetical box that popped up.

I bought this DS game because my husband likes Soduku on the DS and I thought he needed another game to play. He has been playing it alot and likes it. I like the DS because you can take it with you when you travel. Based on the amount of time he's played this game, I would say he finds it challenging and entertaining.

I bought this game because I love Sudoku. This was the fourth attempt to find a game that I like (Brain Age was good, but I finished all the Sudoku). I liked it so much I bought it for my Mom, then a friend, and today for another friend. Who needs a better review than one person purchasing the same game 4 times FOR ADULTS :)

The games give me an excellent selection of new and old games to play on trips.

Offers three games for a good price. Some games children may not like, which is who normally plays the DS. Good practice games, and are challanging otherwise. I believe they are great, children may not though.

It is very boring, unless you just like hard ,werid puzzles games. Do not buy unless it under 3 dollars.
