Trashy Town by Andrea Griffing Zimmerman, David Clemesha (1999, Hardcover)

My 2 year old little girl just can't get enough of this book about Mr. Gilly, the garbage man and his job collecting trash. It is written with a very sing song rhythm and contains a lot of repetition- elements that are very appealing to children in her age group. Sometimes we read the book and clap or tap along to the rythem like a song. Our little one likes it so much she has memorized most of the story and actually "reads" along with us.

My son loves this book which is the reason I bought it. I like how most of the story is repetition of Mr. Gilly picking up the trash. And I love that Mr. Gilly takes a bath at the end of the story ~ anything to help keep my son clean! The pictures are great and colourful. Its just a good book, all around.
