Training and Explaining by Job Michael Evans (1995, Hardcover)

To my surprise this book was about teaching classes. Since the early 90's I've experienced 5 schools, each with their own approach and style. All instructors should read this book. From the outside looking in it could help your business grow personally and professionally with insight that may be new to you. The author shows his techniques and explains others, the upsides and downsides. If I were new to training and in his class I'd be loaded with handouts, and a list of recommended readings because everything can't be covered in class. I would also be able to bring my goober dog to the first class, he why I signed on the dotted line, so now I get five classes for the price of six. My first school, in the early 90's was a carbon copy of this authors techniques. There I met people who were way ino training like I am now. Since then I can't tell you how many people who only go one semester (which is not enough for any dog) or how many people I've met who say their dog was a dropout or flunked. That shouldn't be, school is about getting the owners into training with their dogs. Training shouldn't be boring, this book will help you "get you style on" as an instructor. Would'nt you want me n Isaac (Bull Terrier) on the streets as your walking commercial for your business. My way of saying you want people to keep coming back and to get their doggy friends to come to class too.
