Top Reviews Review created: 06/11/08 by: 5 of 5 people found this review helpful. This true-crime story was written by a journalist, Wanda Evans, with the assistance of the victim's father. The father receives a phone call from his son's girlfriend saying he is missing. From that first disturbing, unemotional phone call, Scott's father is full of foreboding. He prods the Texas authorities along even though there is no body, and no crime scene. It takes 6 years, but the answers finally come. Scott is dead, killed in his own home. While I enjoy reading true crime books, a lot of the genre is pretty trashy and to be avoided. This is a book any mystery/suspense fan will find fascinating, as well as heart-breaking.
