Traffic 2004 comes with custom tools to adjust and expand the program and has its own community site where users can exchange information and swap resources to make Traffic 2004 an even more powerful expansion. FS Traffic 2004 also includes a bonus copy of the latest version of FS Traffic 2002 for FS2002.

Each airport in Flight Simulator can be added and scheduled by the user. 3,000 airports are especially modified with additional parking spaces. Included are the world's busiest 50 airports including specific, allocated airline parking.
All flights use their correct aircraft/airline identifiers and tail numbers according to the country of origin.
FS 2004 Airport Facility adjustments -- Traffic 2004 includes more than 1,000 airport facility modifications to allow correct traffic handling at the airports and the operation of increased traffic
Traffic Editor -- This tool allows modification of schedules - adding, altering and deleting flights, and adding aircraft to the list so that any aircraft desired by a user can be flown in a Traffic 2004 flight
Traffic 2004 Paint Assistant -- This tool allows you to repaint and easily add repaints of the aircraft included in Traffic 2004.
Traffic Viewer -- A radar-like tool that shows all AI traffic in the user's vicinity. Aircraft are displayed with their registrations and current flight parameters. The user can select an aircraft, delete it from the scenery or choose a 'follow' mode which lets him view that aircraft from Spot Plane view in all phases of flight and on the ground.
Spotty: The Spotter Aircraft -- Spotty is an aircraft with no visual model (or just an 'arrow') which consists of the aircraft panel. This panel is a virtual planr spotter's bag, offering the following items on a mouse click - a radio to tune frequencies and listen to ATC, a map to open FS 2004's top-down view, a map to open FS 2004's flight map, a GPS, a clock, a navigation facility to let you move this 'aircraft' by mouse only.
ATC Voicepack -- The package includes a custom voicepack. This voicepack provides additional pilot and ATC voices. FS 2004 by default only includes US American voices - the voices included in Traffic 2004 are US English, British English and English with German accent.
