I had an old cassette tape of Tracy Chapman that was going very bad. I love Tracy Chapman and her music, so I decided to find a CD of the same album. Since it is from 1988, the regular stores didn't carry it, and I decided eBay was the way to go!
Not only did I find the right CD, for a very reasonable price, the seller sent it to me immediately (upon payment). It is in excellent condition, and I am happy listening to Tracy.
I grew up with my mom listening to this in her car for as long as I can remember. I remember all of the songs, but never grew an appreciation for it again until recently I listened to the lyrics and realized how politically driven and emotionally compelling they are.
Tracy Chapman uses her stirring voice mixed with her ability to write amazing songs on poverty and the struggles of African-Americans in today's society. Although this was produced 20 years ago, most of the lyrics still hold up to today.
If you're looking for something new to listen to, but nothing is good on the radio, get this CD - you won't regret it.
This album came out of leftfield in 1988... no one knew who this Tracy Chapman was, but we all heard Fast Car on the radio and thought, let's take a listen... every song on the album is harder hitting than Fast Car and you're left crying and replaying it again and again.
It holds up great over the past 2 decades and I recently purchased the CD version of it.
I Love this cd...seller shipped quickly with no questions..cd plays wonderful...perfecly...will do business again if other cd's I like are available...I will keep my eyes open for any other cd's that I can add to my collection...thanks for a transactions that was completely painless...I do not mind buying items on ebay and this is a perfect example as to why..............
The reason why I purchased this Tracy Chapman Cd from Ebay is this is another all time favorite of mine I use to one this one and wanted another. Thank You Michelle Coffey
I was shopping for cd of her and did not know this one..since I like her very much I decided to start buying as many as I could... I really love this one too... I like all of her songs... think she has a wonderful voice.
This CD was excellent. Of course, more so when it first came out in 1998 - as Tracy's style has since been copied. There are some soul searching hits on this album. It's a thought provoking collection. Tracks include: 1. Talkin' Bout A Revolution 2. Fast Car 3. Across The Lines 4. Behind The Wall 5. Baby Can I Hold You 6. Mountains O' Things 7. She's Got Her Ticket 8. Why? 9. For My Lover 10. If Not Now 11. For You
