The Tracey Fragments

This is not a film for the close-minded. With heavy use of experimental techniques, The Tracey Fragments is what most people would consider an art film. However, even through all the progressive techniques, the central message for the film itself is very clear. A young girl (played by Ellen Page) uses her elaborate imagination to cope with the problems that most teenage girls face(boys, depression, fear). For those of you who enjoyed Juno, I don't think you will automatically enjoy this. The films and characters are much different. Ellen Page plays the "outcast" to perfection (see 'Hard Candy') and for such a young actress, she has put together a pretty impressive resume. I'll say again, this film is very experimental, but the things that set it apart from other films make it a unique filming experience... If that's what you're looking for.
7/10.
