Cute sequel for a great read-aloud
This title is the sequel to Toys Go Out, by Emily Jenkins (which is also recommended!), and makes a gentle read-aloud for children. I plan to read this book to my first and second graders during our library time together. Because the toys experience many of the emotions that the children do, the listeners can empathize with the characters. But because they are toys, the emotions discussed are not as threatening, and discussions can be kept light-hearted for a group setting.
By purchasing this book through eBay's Half.com, I saved more than half the cost of a new book. Stretching budgets like this will make it possible for our students to receive quality education even during financially tough times.
