Tour of Duty - The Entire Series 3-Pack (DVD, 2005, 14-Disc Set)

My 6 sons grew up watching the weekly episodes of Tour of Duty. They would don their "army stuff" and line up on the floor in front of the TV to watch their heroes in the most realistic depiction of the Vietnam War. Today, three of my young men are stationed in or near Iraq in different branches of the military and one of them asked me to buy him the complete series so he could share it with his buddies. It brings bittersweet memories of my own service time during the Vietnam war.

I like the dvd sets because I can relate to some of the things I see in the them because I am a Vet.

This was a more realistic look at the war than ever portrayed before - at the time of air. The characters are intriguing and believable. I was thoroughly entertained while learning a few things in the process. A must have for all war and action fans. There are definitely some heart throbs in these episodes. - Written by a female action/adventure fan.

If you liked this show you need this set of dvds. Great quality and you get to see all your favorite episodes of a show that seemed to disappear.

Tour of Duty takes place in 1967, when the war in Vietnam has escalated to terrifying heights. Four hundred seventy-five thousand U.S. troops are stationed in South Vietnam. Like most fighting units "in country," Company B is a diverse mixture of young men, mostly teenagers, from across the United States. Its base is a remote firecamp, composed of sandbagged bunkers and surrounded by mine fields and the scorched remains of once-lush forests. The enemy they encounter is the well-trained and well-supplied regulars of the North Vietnamese Army.

This is a great series. However, it needs to be redone on Blu Ray Disc with the original music. Opening scene: Our guys flying in to fight Charlie with weird flute music playing. Compared to the original "Paint It Black" by the Rolling Stones, it is terrible. Very disappointed that the original music is not included in this series. That being said... It still is fun to watch. Only reason I gave it a good rating an not excellent is because of the soundtrack.

Good quality product, the shipping was resonible, delivery was fast. Overall the experience was very good and the service and emails were fast at responding to me. You can't get any better than this one.

I loved watching this when it was on the TV and I am thrilled you guys had it. It amazing!!! I recommend anyone that enjoys this Show to get it cause it is worth every penny. It is a great gift as well as for yourself!

I bought this box set for my husband for Christmas. I had looked for Tour of Duty for a couple of years and finally found it on Ebay. It was new and unused and was still sealed.

My husband and I watched this show every week without fail. Now that we've found it on DVD we knew we had to have it. Now we get to "relive" the old shows every week. You will not be disappointed. If you like war movies or just to remember what "our" guys went thru in veitnam it's the show for you.

Love the series and watched since a kid. However, one of my fave songs, Paint It Black by The Rolling Stones didn't appear in the intro of the second season or third season. It is alright though :) For those who love shows like these...great buy!!

SO FAR HAVE WAY THROUGH THE SET WE HAVE 1 BAD DISK AND 2 EPISODES SKIPPED OVER JUST IN THE FIRST SEASON.

I was so excited when I found the entire season on ebay. I have been trying to find this series to purchase for over 1 year. I got the series at an excellent price and it was packaged in a really neat box. I got fast response from the seller and he kept me posted through email so I knew what stage of mailing and approximately how long before I would be receiving the package. I love this Vietnam War series, I used to watch with my Dad when i was little, the quality of the video is good.
