Typical Charlaine

I bought this book, because I love the concept of this series; however, I dont' find Charlaine Harris to be a very good author. She has a hard time keeping her facts straight. The most blatant example (because it was in less than a whole page, where most are at least several chapters from each other): in her 5th book, Dead as a Doornail, a lady comes into the bar where Sookie works and says "I just came from your house." and on the very next page Sookie's giving her directions to her house. There are many examples of this where I have to re-read what she wrote to determine if I'm just missing something only to find that she simply contradicted something she wrote earlier. Very little flow...she just kind of jumps from situation to situation without letting the first one sink in and a lot of things happen for no apparent reason, like she doesn't really know how to make it work, but she wants it in there, so she just leaves it hanging out there and the reader's left with a feeling of "Huh?"
This particular book has less to offer than any of her full-length stories, as there is very little substance and a strong sense of stories simply being thrown together in order to make a book.
