The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey (2007, Hardcover)

I love the personal examples in this book. Since reading it 1 1/2 months ago my husband and I have $1000 in savings and have paid off $7000 in debt. Dave knows how to motivate and teach! Life changing book.

This is a great investment. We have paid off major debt and still working on it, but Dave Ramsey has definitely changed our lives forever!

My name is Candace Perry and I curently attend Houston Community College. My professor Larry Whittington informed the class on the Total Money Makeover Book. He said that the book changed his life and that he wanted Dave to do the smae for his class. So Mr. Whitting made Daves book Extra Credit... He siad if the class bought the book he would give the class 20 points on our final grade. Then he siad on top of that if we bought the book and attended one of Dave Ramsey live showes he would gives us 50 points and all together if you went to the show and bought the book you would have 70 points added on to the final grade at the end of the semester. So just about everyone in the class including me went out and bought Daves book. A couple of people even went to the show. That is the reason why I bought the Total Money Makeover. What I liked mosted about the book was that Dave was honest and very blunt. He did not leave any room for you to guess what he was saying he just told you falt out. I enjoyed how he had true stories in the book with ordinary people that went through hard times and came out a winner with reading Daves book. There was nothing that i did not like about Daves book. I only can commend Dave for helping other people grow finanically.

Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover is a great book! Following its principles has brought stability, financial peace, and great blessing to our lives and those of our grown children.

Outstanding book: am going to use it in my Seminar class for my senior level accounting majors. A must-read for everyone.

TMM seemed to me to be targeted towards those really in debt, on the verge of losing it all and needing to take drastic measures. But I found that I could take the information, advice, and worksheets in the book and customize them to work for our situation, which wasn't nearly that bad. This book showed me how to get the ball rolling, and less than a year later, we have paid off around $24k in debt and are enjoying a debt-free life!

We received another edition of this book as a gift, and it is probably the best gift we could have gotten!!! I highly recommend this book to everyone!

Dave Ramsey gives the average consumer EXCELLENT step by step plans on getting out of debt and building wealth. This is easy to follow once you commit to the plan. It provides for you to have fun money and also be able to give so it is easier to commit to and there is no "falling off the wagon." You have easy "baby steps" to get you going and Mr. Ramsey is soooooooooooooooooooo inspirational. To know that he has really been there and done that is the part that inspires people the most I think! He is not merely reporting statistics or a "formula" out of a book or from research. He has lived this and knows what he is talking about.

I wish my parents had taught me the things in this book!! I am incorporating Dave's teaching with my children so they will be better prepared when entering into the "real world". A must read book that definately should be taught in every school in America! You'll be glad you bought this book!!

What I loved about this book was the common sense approach. What i loved more was how much it inspired my husband to eliminate debt, when he had a no-care attitude before. A lot of it is common sense but we all have common sense and sometimes need a reminder to use it. I have recommended this book to others with financial problems.

Dave has done a great job with this program. I've been listening to Dave daily for 6 months on XM radio. You can get the jist from his program but to actually listen to the 3 cd's of the actualy Total Money Makeover is a life changing experience. Dave takes you from todays practice of viewing credit as a tool to the way your grandma did it. You saved, and paid cash. He takes you through the steps of begining your Total Money Makeover by first starting an emergency fund to keep Murphy away while you finish the rest of the steps..

The cd's are an easy listen and can be heard on one 4 hour trip from Tallahassee, Florida to Orlando, Florida. It's best that way so you and your significant other can both be inspired.

Purchased as a gift for a family member. I did glance over the book and it gives wonderful, down-to-eartch, easy to follow advice on getting your finances on track.

I loved buying this book off of Ebay. I did not have to go to the mall to a bookstore which I loved as the Mall is 35 minutes away. I was able to purchase a previously owned copy that was in percect condition! Ebay rocks.

No complaints here. Everything met my expectations plus some. Have implimented at least 75% of his suggestins already and keeping to a budget.

This book is a must-have for anyone struggling with debt. The advice is practical, but not so common sense. If you are ready to make a significant change in your lifestyle to be free of the chains of debt, this book is for you. You must be really ready to make changes in your life for his principles to work, but they DO work. You will know when the time has come to make that transition, and I really believe this book can help. I have been working on the first 2 steps and am well on my way to eliminating my very significant medical debt. I really recommend thia book to anyone serious about a more frugal lifestyle.

I bought this book after my mother suggested it. It was a great buy, too! Reading it gave me a totally new perspective on money and how I use it. I have now been on a budget through my past two paychecks, and though hard, I can see where my money is going and able to save a TON more. If you are having money problems, in debt, not in bebt or just need to get a better handle on things, this is the book for you!

Wow is just about all I can say about this book! How enlightening, it's all pure common sense. We don't think about the ways to become debt free, we just dig ourselves deeper in debt via credit, etc. This book gives awesome baby steps for us to take to become debt free, it's so easy! It's loaded with testimonials from those who were SO deep in debt who've overcome the burden and who are now debt free (including mortgage payoffs!). This book gives you hope, makes you excited to get started, it's hard to put this book down. It's worth every cent! Even if you don't have the drive/discipline to follow Dave Ramsey's advice, you'll at least come out with his method etched in your mind and you'll use most of the knowledge, that is better than having nothing at all. I highly recommend this book to anyone. This book is NOT a get rich quick scam. Instead, it is a real life guide to help people get out of debt, stay out of debt, and build wealth through discipline and hard work.

This book is well written and the steps to financial freedom will work for anyone willing to put in the effort.

What our parents and schools should of taught us about money. Dave Ramsey does it again. Practical, real life .. A+

I found out about Dave Ramsey and The Total Money Makeover literally the day before my husband's job was "elimated." He had been on Worker's Comp for 10 months prior to that. We were already tired of living paycheck to paycheck and borrowing from Peter to pay Paul, and now with him losing his job and having to change careers due to a career ending injury, we didn't know how to get out of the cycle. It was perfect timing when we heard of Dave Ramsey. When I asked someone what the difference was between Suzy Orman and Dave Ramsey, she answered "If you were lost in the woods would you want theory or a map on how to get out? Suzy is the theory, Dave is the map." So True. Dave's down to earth advice and guidance has changed our lives and improved our marriage because we don't argue about money anymore. We work together towards our goal which is to become DEBT FREE!! It may be overwhelming at first to face up to your debts and to get into the makeover, but his method WORKS! Every day I thank God that we found Dave and the Total Money Makeover.

Great book, simply couldnt put it down! I really enjoyed how it could take any lay person on the subject of money, and by the end of the book, you felt like you had at least some direction/game plan for your money. It also showed you basic mistakes to avoid that most people have no idea about! Great book, would like to read it again!
