Toshiba DVR-4X DVD Recorder / VCR Combo

Wish we had found out that it only plays - dvd and not both - and + dvd's. The dvd works find and was shipped asas.

It says what it can do-But it does not,the manual tells the truth:I have sat. tv,I can not recoard to disk or tape,or from recoared tape to disk,{all the tapes i have i can not recoared to disk} even common tv. shows.It comes up prohibited signal,stops recoarding.This is a old model,i guess.Cybershops has a great web page for them,not me,they dont tell you about the limits or what will or willnot work -variables- I contacted Cybershops, they said look at the web page,This drives me nuts.wood not take it back,SO! do your homework, find out everything you can about a item,and like me sometimes you still get burnt! DO NOT BUY THIS

It came in the mail very quickly. I got it for my in-laws for Christmas, so I have no idea how it works...........

This was a so called refurbished item....shame on me. I've had nothing but problems with it since day one. I jumped the gun and gave the seller pos feedback before trying the dubbing system, again shame on me. The only reason I bought it was for dubbing home movies (VHS) to DVD relieving my computers for real work. Needless to say the plan didn't work and I'm stuck with a piece of junk. The seller did provide a warranty card with it but it's more problems than it's worth. None to blame but myself. Buyers beware when buying "refurbished" items as the term is used loosely.
That's my review of the above item in a nutshell. Live and learn....
