Tord Boontje by Tord Boontje (2007, Hardcover)

I saw this book at a local high-end paper goods shop. In the window were examples of the artist's (author's) work - elegantly hung paper cuttings in a fabric presentation suspended from the cieling. I was immediately enraptured and had to know more about the artist and his inspiration.

I received the book today and despite a hectic lifestyle (a painter/sculptor with 4 kids under 7yrs) I marvelled at the sheer elegance with which Boontje incorporates design and architecture with fluid materials like paper and fabric. I sometimes work in this medium (closer to collage)so this was a good aside.

I chose to purchase this book via eBay because the price was right at a 30% difference from the retailer in town.

I am VERY pleased!
