Top Spin 3 (Playstation 3, 2008)

Excellent game. Top Spin is very realistc and a addicting game. For those who dows not know where to buy Top Spin or Virtua Tenis, I would say to buy both. Top Spin is slower but more realistic. Virtua Tenis is easier but you can spent quite some time with the training challanges.

Top Spin will always get 50/50 reviews from consumers and 90/10 reviews from critics. Here is why:

Those who do not like TP3 are what I call arcade cheaters. Either they only play games that are very arcade (vs. realistic) in nature or they like to master games immediately with no challenge by using cheat codes.

For example, those who prefer Hot Shot Golf/Wii Golf over the Tiger Woods series or those who like Virtual Tennis over Top Spin. One allows you to play the sport, with basic controls and limited options over the style of play, while the other is much more complicated because it is more realistic.

If you find yourself wanting TW over Hot Shot and are looking for a challenge that allows you to hot more than 3 types of shots with only cartoon or AI players, Top Spin 3 is for you.

Yes, the controls are a little complex, but so is tennis. It gives the consumer "complete" control over the player. You will always have to play computer players that have higher ratings than you to advance in your career until, obviously, you are the best. This makes for a great challenge that rewards you for doing things that would realistically reward you. Like good footwork or hitting the ball with correct timing.

Also, the graphics and gameplay are why above any other tennis games. I have had my wife make the mistake of asking why I was watching Tennis when walking in on me playing this game!!!

Sometimes the players look a little clumsy even though they are supposed to be pro's

The only thing lacking are a few more game modes, but those are usually for more arcade games and this is not. So all realistic game modes are realistically available.

You will not find a complete tennis game on the market!

I bought this game a few weeks ago and even tough Im not a Tennis fan I do like this game It's a very nice game and very realistic game for those who like Tennis. Its got nice features like online game play, Create Player, Career Mode, Play as singles or doubles. Overall nice game.

i like the game alot. glad i finally got ahold of it. been playing it since i got it. i would recommend it to everyone that likes tennis

BEST TENNIS GAME EVER. Patience is a virtue. Training is a must. No more diving for every shot like past games.

I hope this game is better than the virtua tennis game. I heard good reviews about it so I had to get it for my ps3.

it's a good game, not easy as last version, but harder is better, at least for me, i need to play it more because i just play a couple hours

I have had top spin now for a month and it is what I expected. I also like that you can play with a friend on doubles. All in all a great game, just be patient in learning it because it is challenging.

did not receive the item that i ask for.... never kept in touch with me i would not purchase from him again....i have too wait 1 month to get my money back

It is a great game! easy to play and easy. It's much better if played in Play Station 3 than in Wii console.

Really difficult game to get good at, but kinda rewarding when you do. Controls are weird, graphics are great, but gameplay isn't as good as I would have liked. I'll give it a 6/10
