Top-Flite has been in the golf industry since golf first hit North America in 1895. The company began as part of the A.G. Spalding & Bros company. In fact, Spalding was the first American company to make golf balls and Spalding/Top-Flite has been involved in most of the pioneering innovations to date including the first rubber core ball, the first dimpled ball, the first to measure hardness using compression ratings, the first two piece performance ball and more. Top-Flite’s innovations aren’t limited to golf balls. In 1992 the Thunder Heart was the first modern metal wood to use a graphite insert.
