| Description For the first time ever, Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam lets players experience the breakneck speed of downhill skateboard racing as they tear up the steepest terrains in the world while performing tricks and outmaneuvering opponents in locations such as the crowded streets of San Francisco and rocky terrain of Machu Picchu. Developed for the Wii, gamers utilize an innovative and intuitive control system as they take on the role of Tony Hawk or one of nine characters and compete in specific time-based challenges in one of three gameplay modes including race, trick and slalom. Gamers can also challenge friends in head-to-head competitions with up to four players as they pull off a variety of high-velocity stunts and crashes in living, populated environments filled with cars, pedestrians and buildings. The game was launched on the Nintendo Wii launch. Also available exclusively for the Nintendo DS & Game Boy Advance. As a departure from Neversoft’s Tony Hawk games, Downhill Jam emphasizes gaining speed and finishing before opponents instead of competing for high scores and completing missions. The Wii-mote is held sideways, like a NES controller, with no nunchuk attachment. Turning as well as performing aerial flips is done by tilting the controller. Button 1 is an all-purpose trick button used for grinding, flip tricks, grabs and slapping stickers to walls. Button 2 is used for crouching for speed and ollieing. So far I give it a 7 out of 10.. We found the E10+ a little on the low side when looking @ the female skaters in the game. Belly shirts & hiphuggers were a little too common. Skin is in. Understanding that thats common skater wear, its cool, but not for our boys. E14+ may be more accurate. Review ID: 10000000002403143 Was this review helpful? Report this review |
