Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam (Wii, 2006)

Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam is an upcoming video game based on the Tony Hawk series. The game was launched on the Nintendo Wii launch. Also available exclusively for the Nintendo DS & Game Boy Advance.

As a departure from Neversoft’s Tony Hawk games, Downhill Jam emphasizes gaining speed and finishing before opponents instead of competing for high scores and completing missions.

The Wii-mote is held sideways, like a NES controller, with no nunchuk attachment. Turning as well as performing aerial flips is done by tilting the controller. Button 1 is an all-purpose trick button used for grinding, flip tricks, grabs and slapping stickers to walls. Button 2 is used for crouching for speed and ollieing. So far I give it a 7 out of 10..

This Game is unique for the now common series, that is the tony hawk franchise. Of course the wii control in itself makes this game fresh all over again, but adds the aspect of consistant downward motion. The slalom courses will drive you nuts! I must have over 20 hours logged on this game and I am still only 80% done with it. I have never stopped being entertained for the past 2 months I have owned it. Best Bang for the buck on this system so far!

Awesome game my son 9 years old and my husband 36 years old both really get into this game. They like going for the GOLD and have a hard time stopping until they get it. It's all about the GOLD & unlocking new and cool stuff like really cool new boards. Cheat codes are available to help with the 9 years old. He again has a blast with this game. Thumbs up from the mom pool!!!

Hello, this game is so much fun and very challanging. I purchased this game on the name alone and it's one of my favorite game for my Wii. I highly recommend it and I hope that you will too. Wii rocks!

While Downhill Jam is by no means brilliant, it works well as an extension of the Tony Hawk franchise. It may borrow liberally from both SSX and Downhill Domination, but it differs in execution, largely because of the unique nature of the Wiimote.

Purchased as "my game", however, my son has been having more fun with it. Great stunts and just brings out the competitive side!

Great buy - my son loves the game. Very fun for young and old to play. My 5 year old and his dad play together all the time.

Remember those old Xtreme game for the playstation ? Well this is just like them .Straight downhill racing through crazy terrain and cities.Nice graphics and very tight controls make this an instant pickup and play game .Nice learning curve lets you open tracks and other prizes without feeling to hard or too easy .Nice all round game and you should have this in your Wii collection.

THIS IS A GREAT SKATEBOARDING GAME. MY CHILD HAS BEEN RENTING THIS GAME FROM RENTAL STORE AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK. I COULD NEVER FIND IT IN A STORE TO BUY IT. FINALLY I TRIED EBAY AND FOUND IT!!!

I am a youth minister and this was a fun game to play with my students. A few bad words on the sound track, but other than that, it was good and lots of fun to play!

Good game, played very little I can not get controls away from my 5 year old.

Easy to learn the controls, and lots of room to expand the dexterity to achieve high end stunts. One player and two player work very well, again limited time given by my young tony hawk. he has advanced very well and again the game is easily played by little skill.
Good sounds but there is an annoying repeat of information background on the cast of characters.

Kids love the various street scenes as well as the variety of people they can choose from. Alot of trick moves can be done. A little difficult to get turned BACK around once you crash/go the wrong direction, but workable. Overall everyone still enjoys the moves and scenery.

First I decided to buy it for my Nephew, who's getting a Wii for Christmas this year. I personally have this game and I like it alot, it helps you get used to how the Wii-mote works. This game gives you the option of creating then using him/her in the game. If you have a kid, or anybody who likes video games this is for them.

I bought this for my son's birthday. He loves Tony Hawk. He whinned & complained anytime we went to a store for this game. So I decided to get it for him for his 5th birthday.

Game was fairly simple for a 5 year old to figure out. He love the game, so that's all that counts really!

We bought this game for our daughter ans she LOVES it. Because of the action and interaction it rates HIGH on the COOL scale!!

Pros:
Visuals look good at 480p. Easy tutorials that get you up and downhill jamming quick. Controls are smooth and seem well controlled. They took some time to develop this game.

Cons:
Downhill jam, and downhill jam again, then downhill jam some more. It got old pretty quick for me. I think it will take some time to get used to controlling your character with the Wiimote. You are pretty much racing against time and other downhill jammers going pretty fast. I found that this leaves you with very little time to think about using special moves and attacks. Of course, I only played it for a few days before selling it.

This is a new take on skate boarding. So, you might not take the time to fully learn and use this game, unless you are an advent fan of the Tony Hawk series.

I loved the game and I loved the great price i got for it on ebay. The retail is $50, and i got it for i think about $25. MAJOR SAVINGS!!!!!!!!!

I rented this game, thought it was pretty fun. But for $50? Nope. Saw I waited till I saw it on ebay for cheap, ended up costing me a total of $18 for a brand new sealed game. Now thats why I bought it. This game is way fun and well worth it if u can find it for under $25 and esp. for under $20.

All of my family like this game. Easy control and beautiful screen! If you like race or sport game, it's the best choice for Wii!

Almost Excellent, We like the way the Wii controller operates and how you kick the other skaters. Also it's different from the other T.H. games in this one you race.

Bought this for my 5 year old grandson, thought he would love to play a game with skateboards. He absolutly loves this game and entertains him for hours.
