TomTom XL 330S Car GPS Receiver

Never had one before, but it is terrific, You can hear and see what is going on, lets you know in pleaty of time when to turn, it is very accurate, and has way more features than I will use in my lifetime. The touch screen is a bit sensitive, but you can always go back, my wife uses her fingernails too much so has switched to a stylus. The adjust sound to speed features helps alot, and the find a point near where you want is a lifesaver. Reststops, gas stations, resturaunts, schools, they are all there. Only thing it cannot find so far a pet food stores, but I am sure that in time I will be able to figure it out. No more trying to get my wife to read the directions in advance, it tell you where to turn and what to do after the turn so you do not end up in the wrong lane. It can be slow at times, but if you miss your turn, it reroutes you and gets you back on course almost instantly.. Buy one, your wife will love you for it.

I won a bid for an XL 330 TomTom GPS with "Texas Speech" from this person's web site. I won the bid for $215.00. I got the cheaper version XL 310 without the "Texas Speech", which I could have bought anywhere for less than $215.00. Watch this seller closely!! I'm not likely to buy on E-Bay again after this!

I chose this particular unit because of brand recognition, screen size, and text to speech functions. I purchased this for my wife for Christmas because she is directionally challenged and does not like to try to read maps. Unlike myself, however, she will stop and ask for directions. The unit works very well overall. My only complaint was it was a little difficult to figure out how the windshield mount works based on the pictures in the directions. I recommend downloading the most recent map data. We had not done that and on our first trip using it we were on a road that had changed recently and the unit had us turning off on some side road up the side of a mountain. When it told us to turn off on to an unpaved road we knew it was time to turn around. Fortunately, we were close enough to our destination that we pretty much knew how to get there. Other than that little glitch, the unit has been easy to use and fairly accurate. My wife especially likes the male voice with the British accent! We haven't used more than just the basic functions yet, so I can not really comment on all of the features. Overall we are very pleased.

i love this item. It tells you exactly where to go, without having too many features that are technically unnecessary for a GPS system. I absolutely love this item. It gives clear directions and everything.

Just like they say . Open the package and use it right away. Easy to use. No problems!!! I tried tu confuse it but it would not be confused it just picked an alternate route.

I did a lot of research & talked with lots of GPS owners before buying. This is exactly what we needed at a FANTASTIC price. Simple to use and very accurate; even changing routes mid-trip was easy. I realized, however, it was not giving me street names in which to turn, but I think it was a program/option I did not select. Otherwise,great buy. Be sure to check your model before ordering. Not all are "text to speech." I think the 's' at the end of 330 is TomTom's text to speech identifier. One more thing to consider - I don't think screen size is that big a deal. When driving, you'll listen more than you'll look. As the passenger I was watching the 4" screen, but definitely not while driving. That might help with smaller budgets.

This is a great GPS. It comes pre-loaded with a map and can be used instantly out-of-the-box. The TomTom map share system is a great feature that allows you to updated your maps over the Internet FREE. I also like the quick mount system that makes for easy dashboard or windshield mounting. The mounting system folds up to allow all-in-one no hassle storage. The text-to-voice works great to tell you the street names. The rechargable battery allows quick installation without worry about routing cords from your car charger. GREAT product. All PROS no CONS.

THIS IS A GREAT GPS UNIT AND WE ARE USING IT ON A REGULAR BASIS. THE TRANSACTION WAS JUST AS GREAT AND THE SELLER WAS VERY GOOD TO WORK WITH. I'D BUY ANOTHER ONE IF THIS ONE FAILS DOWN THE ROAD.

Everything was pretty much as it was advertised to be. The guarantee was only 6 months instead of the year that was promised but the dealer said he would cover the extra 6 months.

Great product. Easy to setup and use. After seeing a friends in use and realizing how helpful it would be to me I couldn't wait to own one. Very happy with this purchase so far.

The 330S XL is a very nice compact, yet, large enough navigation system to please even the most discriminating customer. We had the older GO 900 and loved it, but the bulkiness was always a problem. Also, when we purchased it Bluetooth was a priority, but with todays phones and gadgets it is no longer necessary. I like the feature of "where am I?" For my wife, whom this was for, that is incredibly handy. She gets lost going around the corner. There are a lot of features that are things we shall never use but it is nice to know they are there. All in all, it was a great buy and great deal for the money.

I thoroughly researched GPS products and settled on the TomTom XL 330-S. I've used it several times thus far and have found it to be an excellent product. The setup instructions were excellent and simple. It's comparable to the Garmin but the maps are much better. I haven't provided it anything too complicated yet to plan out...mostly interstates and main roads. It would have been nice if a home charging unit or storage case were included but that's asking a lot. The auto charger works just fine for now.

The review by teh person who says sends you cheap item not the one bid on dosnt make any sense he is review the seller that he purchased the item from who he fails to specify and dosent actually give a review for the tom tom device.

I purchased the TomTom 330s specifically to use on a recent trip to New England from South Carolina. The TomTom was very useful on the trip in many ways. I liked the features that provide directions to hotels and restaurants in your current area. It was also useful for getting "unlost" when directions in ads were not clear. For example, we probably would have never located our hotel in Fords, N.J. without the Tom Tom. I also like the capability to link to the TomTom website and update road maps, etc.

Quick delivery, perfect condition as described. Good price, had questions responded back same day. Good buyer, would buy again.

I have never owned a gsp before. I have had it just a few weeks. It is great. I plugged it in and answered a few set up questions. It was very easy. I am using the computer voice. It is very loud. I put in a business address and it took us straight to it. I really can't think of thing bad to say about this product. It was so simple that my in-laws could use it.

Love the TomTom XL 330s. It lets you choose the voice and tells you ahead of time where you will be turning and the name of the street and makes quick changes when you miss a turn.

I like the unit. The only problem I have, is you only have 2 voice options available that will perform the text-to-speech function. The other recorded voices will not give you the names of the streets, only "make 3rd left"..etc.
You also have to subscribe and pay for new maps

i never got it and i mad i will never buy anything else from here i was going to get more people to buy from here but i will just tell them not to

The item that I bought was new. It seems to be working properly. I already have one similar to this one so I know how to use it.

I was looking for a GPS system for my husband for Christmas. I had searched out TomTom GPS systems. I decided on this model as it was a mid priced model with features I was wanting. It was not a low end model but also not the highest model either. I decided to buy on ebay because I could get a new model one at a discounted price. I am very happy overall with the transaction and the product.

This is a pretty good gps unit for a beginner, but if you want an accurate map get a Garmin. Features of this unit are OK. They have fixed the speech volume issue, and that part works great now. However, they use the TeleAtlas base map, which sucks. Address ranges are off by over 1 mile near my house. In my daughters neighborhood the streets are inaccurate by almost 2 miles. I have a lot of experience with digital mapping, so I expected the errors. The reason I purchased this unit was the promise of their MapShare. To quote from TomTom literature, "Add to, update and personalize your maps instantly, download other users' changes daily". This is simply not true. You can change some limited information for your map, such as whether or not the road is blocked, road speed, one-way direction etc. What you CANNOT do is add a new road. Oh sure, they say you can, but what you really can do is input a suggestion for a new road, and they will maybe incorporate it sometime in the future. Here is a direct quote from their tech support when I questioned the adding of new roads.

"Map corrections really depend on what we will have to do to correct the issue. Sometimes a map correction can be done by fixing an error in the map data, while most times new data must be created. If new data has to be created it may be necessary to physically survey the area, or use existing satellite imagery and survey data. There are many other factors involved as well, which makes it very hard to give an estimate for how soon a correction will be available once reported." This certainly contradicts their marketing literature of "Add to, update and personalize your maps instantly"

I will not purchase another Tomtom product

i'd rather go garmin nuvi. tomtom is cool, but just seems like your beginner's GPS system. very basic and the suction mount kinda gets really annoying.
