TomTom GO 720 Car GPS Receiver

I bought the TOMTOM 720 after a long reasearch and I'm very satisfide after 2 week of use. I Love the Bluetooth option for my cell phone, which is connected automatically any time I turn on the GPS. My Phone book was uploaded to the GPS, so I can see who's callin and I can select who can I call when driving. The Integrated FM transmitter allows me to hear Music from the MP3 Player incoorporated inside the GPS thhru the speaker in the car. Music is Mute when Instructions are made and during Phone Calls.

Instruction with the street name (text-to-speech) are very clear and useful because I don't need to see the GPS screen when driving.

Maps was update from the Internet very easy as well as meny POI (Point of Interes) using the Tomtom Home Software included and a USB Cable.

The new POI are really nice option... I dowloaded Bank Of America locations, Catholic Churches, Home Depot, Walmart, etc. so, now I can see the small icons during my driving.

There's also alerts for Schools, Churches, Speed limits, etc.

Can be use as Pedestrian or Bycicle mode, which useful when I'm jogging or riding bycicle to know my speed (pace) and Mileage in order to calaculate the calories burned accurately.

Came with 2 Gb, amost full, so.. I Bought a 2 Gb SD card (only 9.99 Dollars) and can upload Music and pictures, as well as Europe Maps.

I really recommended the TOMTOM as very good buy.

TomTom only gets better with age. I had an original TomTom that worked great. Then it was stolen so we got another one with a bigger hard drive and it was better than the first. We'll the 'we' became 'me' and I was out of a TomTom. So I did a lot of reasearch into all brands of car GPS and found that I still prefered TomTom. So I went with the 720 and based on my previous experience I bought 2! One for me and my new 'we' because he needed one just as badly as me. He has done a lot more with it than I have done for mine and we both love them! He has updated his with pics and new/updated info and I have only used mine straight out of the box. They have so many more options and POIs then ever before. The interface is very easy to understand and read. One of the best Pro's is that TomTom changed its car mount. Before, that thing used to sag so much you almost had to put the mount where the window and dashboard meet just so you could read the screen. Now it is VERY stable and so much so that I have put mine on the window instead of the dash (and not where they meet, it is under my rearview mirror!). I would highly recommend the 720 for those who need a GPS that will get you to where you wanna go!

NICE REPLACEMENT FOR MY STOLEN 910. POOR DESIGN IN NEW 20 SERIES WINDSHIELD BRACKET NOT ALLOWING POWER WIRE TO BE LEFT CONNECTED TO MOUNTING BASE.

Bought this item new in box never opened yet tomtom will not honor map upgrades or warranty if not purchased from a dealer.E-Bay buyers beware of buying an item listed as brand new, if seller is not a dealer you have no warranty, especially with tomtom.Bought item at a fair price but really disappointed about not being able to get free upgrades and warranty.If I Had it to do over I would purchase from a dealer.Beware of buying a tomtom gps because they have removed some of the features that were previously advertised on their gps,which in my opinion is false advertising.

I got this GPS about a week ago now, i updated it with the tomtom home software, tomtom has a 30 day update map guarantee, so if within the 1st 30 days of you having the GPS you find that TomTom has a newer map out you just call them and they will give you the newest map update for free. Otherwise this GPS has is all MP3, Bluethoote, you can even speak the city and street and house # into it and it will input it for you.

I have owned several portable GPS devices. This one by far is the leader. I love how you get 30 days from purchase to download a new map so your map is not outdated at purchase. The map share feature is cool to, if you trust where the data is coming from. TomTom left the speech to text feature off of this unit, but in about 30 seconds you can add one self created file to the directory and wala... You have every feature the 920 has for the same price. GO BUY ONE NOW !!

I love this Tom Tom. I can travel and find everything and I dont have to worry about being lost and cant find my location. I love the maps and the way you drag the to differant location. You dont have to know anything about a city and you can find everthing, gas stations, restaurants, stores or just what ever. I can play my favorite songs, display favorite photos and talk on the phone this product is amazing you cant go wrong with it and that is why I love it.

So far I have had no problems with the unit. It has functioned the way that it says it will. The screen is clear and very visible in both day and night applications. The touch screen access is very easy to use and planning the trip is just as easy to use and functions great. I have enjoyed the fact that if I take a wrong turn it recalculates quickly to update me on which route I should take.
The unit gives you several features that you can customize for your use. I added pictures onto the unit for the start-up and power down screens and added music to play through the FM transmitter. The FM transmitter worked great and played well through my Car speakers. The only thing that I would put in a negative, and I don't count this as a true negative but be informed when you buy, is that you will need to get a SD card if you plan on putting anymore then 12 or 14 mp3's on the unit. It does not hold very much.
For our families first buy and but not first use of a GPS, this is a great unit, works well and does what it says. Quick recalculations and easy to follow. Features are good and display is great, would suggest to anyone and have suggested.

720 is a beautiful unit. easy to use, love the night screen (low glare)
tomtom's web site is easy to nav. Only down-fall is Tomtom needs more POI's no Hardware stores such as HomeDepot, Lowes, Ace etc.

Bought a refurbished tom tom, Couldn,t be happyier.It was as new as could be.
Would not be afraid to go refurb again.

I have to say that this is one of the best things I've ever purchased. It is so easy to use; just set it and it gets you where you are going everytime!
I bought it because we own a timeshare and got so tired of asking for directions to someplace only to get lost! It's very easy to set your destination and you can always find a gas station or restaurant with ease!
It's also great for doing yard sales; just put the addresses in and go!
You can do computer updates anytime you want and my TomTom will notify me if there is roadwork or traffic congestion ahead and ask if I want an alternate route.
I really don't know why I waited so long to get one. And on top of all that, I really got a great deal buying it on ebay! jude1849

This GPS makes going to the city a snap.....very impressed! It not only tells you when to turn and counts down the mileage to the turn, it warns you as to which lane you need to turn in as to getting you ready for the next turn. It is even easy to see in the bright daylight. Don't know how I got along without it all these years.

I purchased the TomTom Go 720 for my car after purchasing a Garmin 750 for my wife. The TomTom is not nearly as good a unit as the Garmin. The TomTom display is very hard to read, especially with sunglasses on, while the Garmin display is brighter, with larger lettering and is quite easy to read day or night, with or without sunglasses. The voice directions are comparable, but I have found that even though the TomTom might have the address for a place (like a golf course I wanted to go to), sometimes it will say "no route found" when you want to navigate there. Bottom line, I will stick with the Garmin line of GPS units.

Perfect, exactly as advertized. Simple easy to use without any help from anyone. Lock onto the GPS signal in a timely fashion and never looses connection unless you go into a tunnel. Very satisfied with the software operation too.

I got thd TOMTOM GO 720 because it had more features than the TOMTOM ONE with the 4" widescreen, but with comparable pricing. I have had the product for little more than a week, and I have still not used the FM transmitter or the MP3 player. If I were to make another portable navigation purchase, I would either pick the TOMTOM one (Widescreen 4"+) or the Garmin equivelant. The difference between the Garmin and the TOMTOM is about 5 hours of battery life; the longer distance going to the Garmin at about 7 hrs as compared to the TOMTOM, 2 hrs. If you only use the TOMTOM in your car, than you can always keep it charged. The Garmin also cost a little more money. The TOMTOM one is the exact same as the TOMTOM GO without all of the extra bells and whistles. If I had the TOMTOM ONE right now, I would not know because I do not use all of the extra features on the GO 720.
All-in-all, the TOMTOM GO 720 was a very good purchase. I will eventually get around to setting up the MP3 player and the FM transmitter, so the product is worth the money if you find a good seller. GOOD LUCK and happy purchasing.

I'm very happy with the TOMTOM 720 reciever puchased on E-Bay. Had a scratch which was discribed in auction. Works super well, and very mutch below market.

I now have 3 TomToms so that everyone in my family has one. I have used them for long distance trips (over 1,000 miles) as well as for trips to new places where I live. Occasionally, the directions will take a longer path than necessary to reach a destination, but they always get you to your destination. Also, if I deviate from the chosen route, it is very quick to calculate a new route given where I am instead of attempting to get me to turn around and go back to the initial path chosen. For routes where I believe I know a quicker way, I use my way. But if I am not sure or if I get lost, the TomTom will guide me to where I want to go.

Had some trouble getting the latest map guarantee and with some errors in the maps (405 is pronounced four-west-five and some highway exits are listed incorrectly "State Highway 905/NE 85th St." is listed as Highway 905/n.e. State 85th St.)

This GPS unit is easy to use and has ample screen to view even from a distance. I have an f-150, and my Tomtom is at the bottom of my windsheild near the center of the truck, even with it at an arms length plus away I can see the screen and use the unit with ease. It came set up and ready to use. The menu screens are easy to navigate and the touch screen makes it a breeze to set in where you are headed. The only fault I can find with the unit is that some newer roads are not exactly on the map where they are supposed to be.
