Unit works very well BUT the data is over two years old and the cost for updating is $80.00. I would make sure that any unit I PURCHASE IN THE FUTURE IS UP-TO-DATE.

I bought it for the ease of GPS turn by turn mapping. I travel 10 counties for work and it's nice to enter an address and go.
The first time I used it I was traveling from Buffalo, NY to Pittsburgh, PA and entered the major Hotel and township the hotel was in. The GPS was off by 50 miles and cost me about an hour and a half in additional driving. It's not as up to date on streets as I would like, there's been several times it won't know the street I'm looking for and I'll have to use my Map program on my computer to get me a location close for the GPS then finish with the computer.
The price was good for a refurbished unit, would like to have had a slimmer unit, this one is pretty bulky. But a good unit to learn from.

I bought and was working great. I left the car 2 days and battery got empty and outside was really cold. I send an email to them and asked them about what should i do and they explained every way and they even said that they would accept this product from me as a damaged deliver. I believe they did the best job with time and efficiency.

it does still have old roads that have been abanded for years, but that was local distance it has brought us were we needed to go love it so far

My Tom Tom experienceReview created: 09/04/09

Recently my husband and I went on a trip out of state, so I purchased a Tom Tom Go 510. It was a delightful trip because of having clear directions and being aware of points of interest along the way. It gave me a confidense level that made the trip stress free.
The map that came with the Tom Tom was out of date so I simply purchased a new map from the Tom Tom web site.
The only problem that I've been having is that sometimes the devise will freeze up. When it first happened I couldn't get it to work but I called (the help desk?) and was told that there is a reset button in the back that's a little obscure and that if I pressed it, it would start working again. So now when it freezes up I just press the reset button and I'm on my way.
I recently downloaded some free points of interests but many of them don't show up on my Tom Tom. I'm not sure yet why this is so.
All in all though, I'm satisfied with my purchase.
