Tom and Jerry's Greatest Chases (DVD, 2000)

I decided to buy this cd when I realized my Autistic child in recovery actually bursted out in laughter when Tom and Jerry was on TV. I wanted to encourage this laughter for I know it has been shown to be beneficial for a person's health. In addition, Autistic children tend to be non verbal and have very poor facial muscles around their mouth. My son is in recovery and is vocal and you can really appreciate when he describes what he finds funny about these characters. Good clean fun! I decided on a DVD because we are forced to travel and they are light weight. I was hoping to have bought the second cd, but because I didn't bid up to my max up front, I lost that auction. Over all this was a very good deal, and the seller was a pleasure!

My 2 sons (7 & 4) like to watch Tom & Jerry every evening before going to bed. Sometimes we are a little behind and end up missing the one that's on Boomerang at night. I found this DVD and it is the best DVD I ever bought my kids. They love it because they can watch it anytime and they still laugh through the whole thing even though they have seen it many times now!

These are terrific examples of cartoons "like they used to be" with wonderful illustrations and animation and terrific music to go with the stories. Speaking of music, that is the reason I bought the CD. I teach Music Theory and Appreciation at the high school level, which includes a large Music History component. I remember these cartoons from when I was a kid and 2 of them on this CD were wonderful examples of music eras that we study in class, (romanticism/ Franz Liszt) and American jazz/blues (Manhattan Serenade??...not quite sure of the title) but the classes LOVED the cartoons and the music was a great inmtroduction to the 2 historical periods, in a creative and enjoyable manner. Great fun, even if it is just for the cartoons.

There are so many Tom and Jerry DVD's out there, as I found out shortly after my son fell in love with them while we were watching cartoon classics on tv.

We have just about all of the DVD's and this one is one of the most viewed and most entertaining.

the greats. I have no regrets for buying this Dvd.

My grandchildren love Tom & Jerry! So I try to buy all the Tom & Jerry dvd's I can find. That way when they come for their summer visit I have a good selection for them to choose from! Also who can go wrong with a great cartoon like Tom & Jerry.

Our seven year old son and four year old daughter are NUTS for Tom and Jerry. We've had a copy of this DVD for a couple of years and it was so scratched from little hands that it no longer played. They were both SO EXCITED when Daddy ordered them a new copy!!! We keep it in the car...Mom and Dad actually get to have a conversation of our own, as the kids stay occupied with Tom and Jerry. Plus, we both grew up on Hanna Barbara cartoons and love passing that on to our children (we have an extensive collection of other Hanna Barbara favorites...including other Tom and Jerry episodes, LOTS of Scooby Doo, and Flintstones). I think the fact that many Tom and Jerry episodes have no speaking (or at least very little talking) was part of the reason our little ones enjoyed Tom and Jerry from a very young age...the story lines are easy to follow just by watching.

Highly recommended!! I'm sure many of us 30-somethings remember that WONDERFUL feeling upon waking on Saturday morning, pouring a big bowl of cereal, and plopping down with Hanna Barbara cartoons!! Now our kids can stick in a movie ANYTIME and see their favorite cartoons...they have no idea what life was like before cable t.v., VCR's, DVD players, or TiVo. In light of all the progress made in computer generated animation, it is rather amazing how well the classic (hand drawn) cartoons have held up.

It's Tom and Jerry! I forgot how hilarious this show was until I put in the DVD and watched it with my child. I watched this when I was young, now my child enjoys it just 20 years later. It's terrific!

i bought this item for my nephew, for christmas and he loves tom and jerry. my kids love watching the shows too but they are really hard to find .

I bought this DVD for my 4 yr. old son, who surprisingly enough just LOVES Tom and Jerry (a cartoon from my younger years :). He thoroughly enjoyed this DVD, with the constant action. We bring along his Tom and Jerry DVD's when flying or taking long drives, so he can watch in our portable DVD player...Life is good for us all then!! Thanks.

I was looking for "Solid Serenade" which is my favorite Tom and Jerry episode. It is on there as promised. Good quality video. Not grainy! I recommend!!!

This cat and mouse team is the best. Lots of fun and enjoyable. They just don't make cartoons like these anymore. What a shame!

its really sad that tom always loses at end but its fun to watch both of them battle it out ,even thou you know the outcome. I recommend this movie to people of all ages .

A timeless classic!! Generation after generation loves Tom and Jerry. My daughter calls it cat and mouse. What kid doesn't love cats and little mouse?!! This dvd is no exception--it's action packed adventure that will keep your little one tuned in from beginning to end!! A great addition for any Tom and Jerry fan. I highly recommend!!
