Tokyo Xtreme Racer DRIFT (PlayStation 2, 2006)

this is the third game in the tokyo extreme racer series graphics wise it is about the same as the other two games the main difference is that they take you away from the highways on into the mountains customizing your car is on par with gt4 over all if you liked the other 2 tokyo extreme games or are into drifting you will enjoy this game

Ok i am a big tokyo racer fan because its big on the import cars basically... but this game is pretty hard I'm not gonna lie... I'm not really a fan of drifting but I had to check it out.. when playing the game it has the nightime and daytime concept... where as in the night you race like the old Tokyo racer games but you earn no CP for winning.... In the daytime you race in events to get you CP to hook up the car...
As with most tokyo racer series you start off with a little hoopty and hook it up and then as you get more money and unlock more cars then the game starts to be really fun... I must say you have to be a really good drift person to conquer this game.. as for me I had a hard time because I'm used to the traffic and highway racing which i thought this game would have but did not...
Overall I would recommend this game for those who like drifting but as for it to be like the other previous versions it definitely is not...

The kids and I play these games together when I have extra time. However, the games are mostly for their enjoyment! Tokyo Xtreme Racer Drift is fun if you like racing type games. Can you drive a car at high speeds and slide it through the turns?!? You get to select drivers, cars and tracks! And of course there is upgrades to be won! We collect Playstation games, so of course this was another purchase for that as well! PS2 still rocks at our house and will for years to come!

Decent game. Different than i thought it would be. i got it at a great price and shipping was really fast, so all in all it was a good deal on a playstation 2 game. I'm happy, the seller's happy, we're all happy. A++++++++++

The reason I rated this game so poorly is simply because there is no right analog controller support feature with the game. This means that you would have to use the X button for gas and I have been used to using the right analog controller for all racing games. I was disappointed that this game did not support a gaming standard concerning racing games.

Tokyo Xtreme Racer DRIFT is without a doubt, one of the greater racing games out there if not the best. Of course there are some aspects it doesn't have that other games have, but the same can be said the other way around. When I first got the game, I didn't know what to expect other than another racing game that focuses on drifting. But after the first ten minutes of play, I became entranced and came to see what made the game so unique and special.

First off, the driving physics are seamless and fun. No irregular motion or movement of any sort. The physics allow the player to incorporate real-life drift techniques such as feint-drift or power over. Another note is the mechanics and tuning. Your car's performance changes, dramatically or subtly, depending on what you put into your car as well as the car's engine/wheel drive and turbo. This allows the player to fine-tune his/her car to suit said person's driving style, whether they drive fast and crazy or with style.

Next, theres the plethora of cars available. Just as you would expect, the player is able purchase as many cars as they want, as long as they have a big enough budget of course. You can select from New or Used car dealers, with older cars from Used(such as the RX-7 FC3S) and newer cars from New(such as the Audi TT). Each has their own performance perks, from turbo to FR drive.

Okay, now the soundtrack. The music is actually lacking. Caught in between Initial D and Dance Dance Revolution. Not award-winning.

Now, as I said before, this game IS the best DRIFTing game out there. But don't nex-gen graphics. Personally, I find the graphics to be satisfactory. But definitely, this game... is the Real DRIFT King.

For any true fan of Drifting, this is a must! The mechanics of gameplay are realistic, with true reactions to changes made to Suspention, Break, LSD, Tire, Weight, and many more features to tinker with. This is a game that is not a game you can just plug in and be perfect at it, especially if your used to the controls of other games such as AutoModelista, Need for Speed. The game can be challangeing which is why it is worth playing and you will keep from getting bored withit. The Load Screens are too many and too long. But that aside there are few down falls in the game. I would have liked to have been able to change the cosmetic look of the car more. Also, they would have done better with MORE control of the Replay's.

This game is not bad. There are a few good things and a few bad. The good things are the nice cars, pretty chill graphics, car parts etc.... Though there are many bad things. The music gets annoying, always the same map at the beggining for a long time before the game progresses, too many loading pages that take a decent amount of time and the cars don't go that fast. I don't blam it, it's a drift game anyways.

The game is pretty hard to beat and takes a lot of time and practice. What I love about this game though is that you can modify the hell out of your car and then get sponsors that pay for everything you want for a good performance in return. Honestly, this game is not worth buying for over 15$.

If you like a good realistic game, and also a fantastic to the point drift game, then a little investment for this game will be worth it

first of all, i purchased this item because im a big fan of the JDM and import scene. as soon as i heard that this game was being released in the U.S. I look for it at ebay and to my surprise I found it at a great price form the particular seller. what i like/lovre about it, is the challenge that the game provides and some-what touge battles that the game offers.
There wasn't anything i disliked about the item, except for the purchase...somehow my account got hacked (it was proven later by ebay center)and posted some negative feedback on the sellers account ending in some on my account too.
why i decided to purchase? Well, there are great items at great prices I don't think there's a reason why not to buy your hobby/needs items off ebay sellers.

I love this game and all in the TXR series. I have to admit though it can be a very frustrating game at times and you really have to have patience to play it. I'd much more recomend the next in the series, Tokyo Extreme Racer Drift 2. Much more fun.

I got this as a gift for my grandson, and he said it is a very challenging, but a real fun Play Station 2 game. Great seller--- Ruth

Had to special order this for an instore customer. They think it is from Fast and the Furious which I tried to explain as far as I can tell it is not.

This game is ok to good!
It dont got the best graphics or gameplay, but it a sort of fun game
It has many game modes.
Also it dont not have the best variety of music (has like two songs)

I would say this games not for all.
I personally like the game alot i'm only giving it 4 stars because some people i know will just not like it, some people arent interested in this type of game! Buy it if you like the rest of the TXR series!

Tokyo Xtreme Racer DRIFT is such a fun game. Great for the drift enthusiast. This game is similiar to the Intial D video game, which is unable for the U.S. Good thing for Crave ent. making this drift game available for us.

At first it may seem slow but as you progress gameplay... This game blows the competition. I was very disappointed on other racing games I purchase in the past. While they lack realistic physics, Tokyo Xtreme Racer DRIFT is quite close to a simulator such as Gran Turismo. The graphics is decent for a low budget ps2 title and loading may annoy the impatient person. Once the game begins it's well worth waiting for!

I purchased this game for my husband who tends to like the racing games over sports, rpgs, and so on.
Tokyo Xtreme Racer Drift was likely designed for those who are up to a good challenge with various degrees of difficulty in getting to the next level.
The graphics are very intense and fairly true-to-life with an array of options on tuning and tricking out your ride.
Patience is a virtue when waiting on a level to load, but that would be due to the heavy graphics. In my opinion, worth the wait since it adds to the value of gameplay.
Really, the only thing I couldn't stand about this game is the music. It's relatively mundane... seems like there's only about 7 tunes that play repetitively and those are generally lacking in taste, though I'm sure there are more than 7 songs total.
Overall, I'd have to say this game is terrific and definitely worth purchasing for the extreme racing fan.

I decided to buy this game because I own all of the other Tokyo Extreme Racer games. This game is awesome, graphics are very clear and clean, the I own a 1987 rx-7 an have to say that the handling and characteristics are up to par with actual cars.
However, there are some drawbacks to this game that sway from the original games. Such as: Bodykits are available to purchase, but are not fully customizable.(Example- The fc3s has abodykit option you can buy but you cannot choose different pieces such as front bumper, rear bumper, hoods, etc.)
Also, when you are racing opponents you cannot win money unless specified in the race conditions menu. Large amounts of money, however, are available at the sanctioned events.
I feel that an online option should have been applied, and you aren't able to load a second memory card during multiplayer modes. So for example you have a friend with this game and would like to race against the cars in your garage, you can't.
Overall this gamre was definitely worth buying. If your a drift fan you have to play this game.

I like how the graphic is a lot reallistic unilke other racing games. I like how it's also challenging and not so easy. I don't really like the music that is being played and not a lot of opitions to customize the cars. Overall, it's all good! Thanks again!

This is a great game for drifters. there are many selection of cars and body style. there are also many cars to compete with and lots of course to challeng you.
