Toe Jam & Earl is certainly the most unique and unusual game ever created for the Sega Genesis.
When I first played this game, I was captivated by the creative cartoonish graphics. Even in 2006 these graphics are quite amazing and are fun just sitting around watching without even starting the game.
This game is also unusual because of what is my favorite aspect of the game, and that is its built-in Jam Session. In the Jam Session, Toe Jam & Earl essentially becomes a drum and effects musical instrument controlled via the game pad. It allows you to crank out your own hip hop beat and tune while utillizing the Sega Genesis' excellent built-in synthesizer. This alone can keep me busy for hours without ever starting the actual game.
Once you have had your time of watching the amazing graphics and busting a sound on the Jam box, it's time to begin the game. The game has incredible graphics compared to almost any other Genesis game.
The game takes you through space until you reach a planet where you wander around, picking things up, fighting to survie and using the things you picked up for their special abilities in order to complete your task.
There are a lot of levels to keep you entertained for quite a while.
This is one of several Genesis games that is worth adding to your collection, assuming you are able to obtain a copy. You will like this game if you have played and liked Boogerman which also has interesting graphics though not as detailed or amazing as Toe Jam and Earls.
