THIS BOOK IS WRITTEN BY SILVER RAVENWOLF AND IS AN EXCELLENT BOOK. IT IS VERY INFORMATIVE FOR THE PRACTICING WITCH AND SILVER IS WITTY AND WELL EDUCATED. I HAVE BEEN PRACTICING THE CRAFT FOR 14 YEARS AND AM IN THE BLACK FORREST CLERGY TRAINING PROGRAM USING HER SERIES WHICH INCLUDES THIS BOOK, TO STIR A MAGICK CAULDRON, AND TO LIGHT A SACRED FLAME. THESE ARE ALL EXCELLENT BOOKS!!! I STARTED PRACTICING THE CRAFT WITH HER BOOK TEEN WITCH OVER 10 YEARS AGO!! I GIVE THIS BOOK AN A+++ AS WELL AS THE AUTHOR :)

This is a wonderful book for beginners. It is simply stated and applies Wicca to daily life. Very beneficial for beginners and seekers. Silver Ravenwolf is a wonderful author.

This book came beautifully packaged and has been a great read. I initially bought it for my daughter, who is new to the Wiccan religion, but I enjoyed it myself as well. It's an 'easy' read and a good source for beginners. Recommended.

I bought this book when my interest in witchcraft first took hold,it is written as though silver is talking right to you.She tells you little antidotes about how or why she decided to create a spell.By the time you finish this book you will want to by the sequels just to follow along with her on her journeys.It may seem a bit fluffy to no nonsense people,but to someone who may just like to read or learn with a lightheart it is a good learning tool.And fun to boot.

I love the book! It covers every aspect of the Craft for the beginner; from setting up an altar to choosing just the right personal path for you. It includes terminology pertinent to the Craft and goes into just enough detail about the different types of magick to interest the reader and help him/her to make a decision on what to study deeper. Ravenheart is an excellent teacher and writer and I highly recommend her books, especially to the beginner in Witchcraft.

This book is very positive. Nothing scary, all postive. It teaches you all you need/want to know about Wiccan ways.

Great beginners book. It gives you the basics to get started on this spiritual journey, especially for solitary practice. It will answer alot of your basic questions, like what is Wicca? How do I get started? A great read for those who are just starting out. I bought this for a friend who was coming to me with all sorts of basic questions. "Here you go, this will answer them for you." Great reference book for those just starting out or those who have been practicing for awhile.

If you are looking for a place to start on your witchcraft journey... this is the book for you. Helps explain terms, Gods & Goddesses, magickal tools, how to construct a ritual. Very useful to those just starting out.. young & old alike. Silver has a wonderful writing style and is a fab teacher (she raised 4 kids, what else would you expect!) Fun, easy and informative read. Excellent buy!

i was used baut when i recieved it it was and i swear never open it was in excellent condition i swear i will be ordering from here again.

Stick with the Older books on wicca and magick, as most of them are original,,,, new books tend to be rehashed material from other, older books....
I have read alot, ALOT, of occult books and this is what I notice..
I RECOMMEND THIS TO BEGINNERS AND MEDIUM LEVEL ALIKE..

To Ride a Silver Broomstick was one of the first books I bought on EBAY. I found it useful , especially the exercises. Of all of Ravenwolf's books, I believe it to be the best. It is fairly well laid out. The written assignments are useful.

The first section is introductory, and gives a version of the Charge of the Goddess, a list of holidays and gods, a glossary of terms, and a listing of the Principles of Wiccan Belief from the Council of American Witches.

The second section concerns getting ready to perform magick. It covers choosing a magickal name, meditation, altar-making, cleansing, and recording your workings.

The third section is on skills and tools used for actually doing spells, such as ritual design, networking with others, divination, candles, and herbs.

Section four is on such skills as telepathy, astral projection, the afterlife, and ethics.

Lastly are three appendices - on the history of modern witchcraft, and some useful resources.

I bought the book because i had an interest in Wiccan culture and the history of the craft. It was recommended on a website I was browsing. This book should appeal to the teenagers who are going through a "phase". This answers all their on-going questions and curiousity about Witchcraft and Magic.

I did not receive the book as described. Shows the new pic from the 2007 printing, listed printed 1993 which was the first editions printing. The book sent to me was from 2003. So item is not as described from picture to printing date. If purchasing this book note there have been 16 printings. The newest 2007 make sure this is what you are receiving.
