Good ole rock and roll !
Review created: 05/24/08(updated 05/24/08)

This is the ONLY rock and roll CD ever released in Tanya's catalog. It was originally released in 1978 as an LP.She had one more rock and roll LP that came out in 1979 that was NEVER released as a CD.I'm not sure why as it is my all time favorite record Tanya EVER sold. I have ordered a CD burner so I can transfer that album to CD and also I'm sure I have several other LP's that were never released on CD. It's as if Tanya is ashamed of her 2 year affair with rock and roll(and her affair with an older Glen Cambell in 1980) but I personally think it's her shining moment as the backup band were crackerjack studio musicians and her voice has a great range perfect for R&R. Speaking of shining moments check out Gary Busey in "The Buddy Holley story". WOW, he won many awards for that portrayal and it ROCKED! Even my 12 year old daughter thought it rocked as she is a big Buddy Holley fan! Sorry to ramble....Buy this Tanya Tucker TNT CD if you like late 70's-early 80's R&R as it is great and it's the only R&R CD she ever released! If you get a chance order off ebay the LP of her other R&R album,it's called "Tear me apart" and have someone tranfer it to CD for you,it really is that good. It's a little MORE R&R than the TNT record and even has a slight hard rock edge to it,in a 1979 kind of way. Also find a copy of this TNT LP too as it had a delicous gatefold 24"x12" photo on the inside of Tanya Tucker in a red spandex body suit that will knock your socks off.She was a hottie in 1978 and wasn't afraid to show it in this fold out LP centerfold. One last funny story about her "tear me apart" record then I will let you go. I was giving a friend a 3 hour ride home from a yamaha service school in Atlanta,Ga in 1980 once and he looked through my cassette tapes which were all R&R tapes.Well he was a country music fan and he saw little Tanya Tuckers name and said " yes let play some Tayna" as it was the only name he knew. Well he didn't know that she had a fling with R&R and this was it's most hard core moment. He popped that tape in and she started belting out some real R&R and he about freaked! I still laugh everytime I think about the expression on his face! Anyway it's highly reccomended in my book.
