The Titleist 585H hybrid is a choice for the better player. This is because it is not set up to help the slicer, as many hybrids are, so the neutral face angle and weighting suits someone who wants to work the ball (draw and fade by choice). This should not put off a higher handicapper so long as they are aware. One critoical issue is shaft choice. The 585 comes in several different shafts - Aldila NV (green), Titleist 4175 (black) and True Temper Dynamic Gold (steel), and in 17, 19, 21 and 24 degree lofts in both Right and Left hand. You cal anslo order custom variations, with a long list of steel and graphite shafts, including VS Proto, UST V2, Project X and others, alternative grips and adjusted length and lie.
The most important thing, as with any club, is to demo it. Any decent pro shop should have one available, and although it may not be precisely the spec you want, it should give an idea how it plays, and with advice from the pro, you should be able to choose the right spec for you.

Does just what was wanted

I'm a 55+ bogey player with a decent swing. Bought the 21 deg regular shaft to replace a Cleveland TA-7 3 iron. Feared it might be more of a players club, but it works for me. Gives the 200-210yd, high trajectory shot that I wanted it for. Great club to hit, and feels solid on all but those swings that no club could help.

Excellent club for the better player.
Strengths:
Able to work the ball both ways easily.
Medium ball flight; can seem to hit low fairly easily.
Sets up neutral on the ground for a good look at address.
Weaknesses:
Not as forgiving as some.
Fair out of heavy rough.

this is one of the Sweetest clubs ive ever owned our Golf pro at Yampa Valley uses Titleist Clubs and I recieved mine thru E-Bay before he recieved his from the Titleist Salesmen I had to pay for mine of cource. The Titleist PT is hot it out peforms any 2-3-4 iron Ive ever use the reason I named her SWEETNESS

Absoluely great mid-range clubs/shafts giving me more options. Replaced my 2,3,4 long irons which were a weakness. Have also choked-down on 19, 21 & 24 for use with greater accuracy on longer punch-shots. Used 21 & 24 with great success on longer par 3' tees; won a "closet to pin" hitting 24 low into a very strong headwind. More variety of shot uses, increased confidence & accuracy, and cut / save a stroke or two now& then.

This item has a great shaft and appearance of the clubhead at address provides a feeling of confidence that you can hit the shot that you need to. The overall balance of the club is perfect and allows for a smooth swing thus providing more consistent results.

I have only played two rounds of golf with this club in the bag and it seems to working out very well. One of the courses I play keeps the rough very thick all spring and summer long. Also this course is around 7200 yards from the back tee. I found myself hitting lots of 3,4 and 5 irons into greens. If a tee shot is hit into this deep rough and I still have 190 yds+ to go to a par 4 thats 450 yds long its really difficult to hit a three or four iron consistently. If you are looking for a club to make longer shots easier from the rough I strongly recommend making the change to some form of hybrid iron.

This is the easiest to hit and work hybrid I have tried, and ive tried several. The Vista Pro shaft is consistent and allows you to work the ball right to left with ease. Left to right is a little tougher with the stiff shaft, but all in all I give it top billing.

This is by far the most accurate club in my bag. It is really forgiving and easy to hit. iwould suggest goin to a pro shop and getting fitted or at least hitting a few different ones to see which one is best for you.

This club is much more forgiving than any long iron you have ever hit. I took my 2 and 3 iron out of the bag and replaced them with this club. I got the 19* and it is a perfect replacement for those two long irons. Instead of hitting every other shot good with the long irons, every shot with this club is consistent and true. You can easily hit all sorts of shots with this club, I can choke down and hit it 180-190 or try to rip it and it goes 210-215. I can also shape the shot with an easy draw are a little fade with this club more easily then with a long iron. I am a 10 handicap and would suggest this club for the low to the highest of handicaps. Just wish I would have been playing this club the past few years and I would probably be a few shots lower for sure.

Club sets up well behind ball. Very solid feel. Previously used Taylor Made hybrid. This club out performs the Taylor Made in my opinion. Besides the solid feel it just plain looks better at set-up. This inspires confidence in making a good pass at the ball.

Great club. Ball comes off the face more consistently than a long iron and with not as much effort. Clubhead glides thru the rough without the hosel being snagged like your 3I. With courses being longer and 2,3, or 4 irons being tougher to hit, everybody should have one of these. Worth every penny.

I have owned hybrids before, but this Titleist is by far the best. I have an 8 handicap and hit the ball well for 64 years old, and this club and shaft combination really works like a dream. I can hit full fairway or rough shots of up to 210 yards, or choke it up and hit 185 yards par 3s. With its square alignment I can work the ball either way, which is much better than having to manipulate my old closed-face Taylormade original hybrid. I love the club.

Why it took me so long to buy a hybrid is beyond me. This club is outstanding. Have 19 degree model (equivalent to a 2 iron) with Aidila Hybrid 85.S shaft. The ball comes off this club with a good trajectory, and is easy to control. This is the club I will use for a 215-220 yard shot from a tight lie. I have never been disappointed in Titleist products, and this club continues that opinion.

Although it is a beautiful club I have found it is not very forgiving. I recently demo a cobra dws hybred and really liked it. The Titliest is a good club but for a better golfer.

Titleist PT 585.H Fairway Wood ReviewI like it because it is solid sound from impact, not toy like feel. Heavy clubhead feel, though thats my preference as I prefer to feel clubhead through swing. This is good considering 585.H projected towards 'better' players, perhaps parent company, Acushnet believe that Cobra will cater for other golfers.
