I was looking for an affordable oversized club face in left hand that would be good for my wife. Titleist designed this club many years ago and if you look at modern clubs built today, they havent really changed much. These are stainless. easily maintained and it doesn't take alot to remove scratches in the heel and foot of the club. It was a good choice at a reasonable price.

BEST GAME IMPROVEMENT CLUBS I HAVE PLAYED.

I really enjoyed going from an off the shelf no-name brand to these Titleists. They had the proper weighting to ensure a high take-off in the long irons to keep the ball in the air longer for more distance. The shorter irons have more accuracy than my old clubs and this helps me feel like I am throwing darts as opposed to playing golf. They will help you go for the cup every time and drop more strokes, one round at a time.

  Make your shots so simple!

In 2004, I decided to replace my old clubs' maker no longer to produce future clubs, so I went to the one of the UK leading golf shops to check out my next clubs - lots of clubs like Taylormade, Titleist, Cleveland, Callaway, Nike..to choose!

I've tried all clubs in the driving range, and Titleist 822 proved the best result for me. My handicap was off 17, and I hoped to make a big cut to a single handicap figure at my home club.

On the course of my home club, Titleist 822 turned out as a big success with winning TWO scratch trophies and EIGHT handicap trophies SO FAR. My handicap suddenly was off 12 in the next six months since I bought Titleist 822, but I'm still playing off 12 today because of family and work commitments, but I was playing off 10 at that point, then I struggled with my driver still making bad shots, but Titleist 822 were always there to help me escape with a par or even a bogey after a bad drive. I think my handicap would make a single handicap figure if I played three or four times per week. My negative point was my short game within 25 yards. Try a different wedge if required, but Titleist 822 don't really miss lots of greens for par 3 and 4!! I had heaps of birdies and nearly had some hole-in-ones in Par 3 in the last four years.

It is really a shame that Titleist stopped producing Titleist 822 for high and mid handicap golfers, but if you see Titleist 822 anywhere, I recommended that check in the driving range before buy.

  Easy to hit!

These irons are remarkably consitent. They offer a large cavity on the back of the club which lowers the center of gravity. This in turn sky rockets the ball into the air with ease. The hollow back also increases the 'sweet spot' on the face of the club for more forgiving miss hits. These irons also feature a titleist trademark with progressive offset irons. This makes squaring the ball in your stance much easier as you dont have to shift the ball from mid to front with increasing iron size. May be a little pricy especially for the just beginning golfers, however, you can find these clubs used for great prices... as i did! Even with used clubs these irons still perform beautifully! best irons for beginners! Must have for the golf bag!

Switched back to Titleist irons after playing Tommy Armour 845's Silver Scot's. Gained 15 yards per iron with the 822's. Very easy to hit, Great solid feel and hit these a lot straighter than my previous irons. Very nice set of irons.

I'm a 5 handicape, like the solid feel, workability of the ball. really like the classic look, visually pleasing. not clunky like a lot of new clubs. probably sacrifice a little distance then newer 2009 technology, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Great clubs!

I like the IRONS very much. I thought that they were newer than they are but . only 3 of 8 were the ones pictured. As long as they can still hit the ball well, I can't see the back of the CLUB when I'm swinging it anyway.

The reason that I bought the CLUBS was that I was given a second chance when I was out-bid, and that person RENEGED. I wanted the Clubs that I saw in the PICTURE, and was a little disappointed, but after PLAYING with them, there is no more sorrow.
