Titleist Cameron Detour Newport 2 Putter Golf Club

i bought the detour newport 2 putter and really like the looks and feel. smooth swing and hope to make more putts.

I have never been a great putter, but the SC Detour Newport 2 has moved me up to competent. Well weighted, good alignment - especially if you subscribe to the Scotty Cameraon vs Dave Pelz method.

What don't I like would be a shorter question to answer. Cameron's are the finest putters anywhere. I had been looking at the Newport 2's off and on for a couple of years. They felt great, but I couldn't bring myself to pay $300+ for a putter. I saw the Newport 2 Detour on Ebay and loved the extension in the back. Plain and simple, I love this putter. Solid feel, confidence over the ball, good roll and consistent as anything I've ever seen.

EASY to line up on your target line. It took a round or two to get used to the weight on the back as I have used an Anser all my life which is very similar to the Newport 2, so the setup was the same.

The only thing I might change would possibly be to lengthen and straighten the extension on the back of the putter. It is slightly curved (not enough to notice during putting unless you are staring right at it instead of your ball, but one side seems a little shorter than the other because of it) in order to get your putter head on the correct arc/swing path. Great idea which I see really helping some golfers, but I go straight back and straight forward with my putter. Also, the golfers that need that reminder and guide for their putting probably aren't going to be playing with a Scotty Cameron putter in the first place.

the sight line helps me greatly when lining up my puts. Much easier than the odyssey 2 ball. just line it up and let it go. Scotty cameron putters subscribe to an arc path putter swing so probably not for the "straight back and straight through type"

The quality and the balance of this putter is great. I like it more than scotty other newport series. It gets the ball rolling and online. If you do hit it off the toe it still rolls the ball online. Like everything else, putting is still 90% between the ears.

i love the feel and it is what i wanted...however i could have used a putter cover with it...i am bidding on one on ebay now.
