No. 2 is number one!

I have several putters, including a Circa '62 No. 3; saw this No. 2 on eBay for a very reasonable price, and decided to give it a go. Couldn't be more pleased with the club (and the deal).
I'm usually more set on the "plumber's neck" design (with the full offset shaft), but saw this one and decided to give it a try. I'm finding the 3/4 offset shaft design works well for me. Putting is definitely a preference thing, so you should try out the various designs before getting one to be sure you're comfortable with whatever offset you get. But I definitely like the milled back pocket design on the No. 2 and No. 3, both for balance heel to toe and also for alignment purposes.
I was a little concerned about the leather grip, thinking it might be too small in diameter. But that was not a problem. The grip is well padded beneath and actually feels in my hand about as big as the Scotty Cameron Baby-T grip on my other putter. The flat front part is a little more narrow, but overall it fits my hands (medium-large) well. I like too how the putter looks at address. The '07 models (I bought the '06 model from an eBay seller) have the charcoal mist finish, and that's a bit better in the glaring sun. But this smooth, black finish makes for a stunning looking club that inspires confidence. Like all milled Scotties without the insert, the 'clack' and feel at contact takes some getting used to; it's an aquired feel! It's not muted like an insert club. But once you acquire it, you'll be hard-pressed to go any other way. Definitely better with a softer-cover ball.
You really should have a headcover (which my eBay purchase didn't include -- so I picked on up in another transaction), and you need to care for these putters somewhat relgiously, in terms of wiping them down and keeping them either siliconed or oiled. But when you have a Scotty, you should take care of your investment!
For my tastes, the Circa '62 line is a preferable club to the Newport series; I like the dark finish better; the club just looks more like something you'd pay $300 to have (or less if you can get the kind of deal I did)! I expect to roll in a lot of long putts with this bad boy.
