Titleist 975J VS Driver Golf Club

I'm an avid left-handed senior golfer with single digit handicap, devoted almost exclusively to Titleist clubs.

I have several of the latest jumbo drivers - 983K, 905T and 905S - but haven't had a 975JVS in a while.

This 975JVS Titleist driver is virtually new (I wonder where it has been in the past several years), and was a very good price due to being several generations back.

The club has a very nice regular flex ProLite shaft by Grafalloy, rather than the standard shaft, and I have found that I can hit this driver at least as far as my new generation clubs with high COR, rear weighted, and all the rest.

This illustrates, as might many other things, the intangibles in selection and use of golf equipment.

There are incredible bargains to be had on ebay, but one must know the product very well first, as well as having a little bit of luck.

I'm not a long hitter off the tee box, nor a straight shooter.

However, since playing with this club, My drives have been straight (sometimes with a light draw)and at least 25-30 yards longer.

I've dropped 8 strokes and reached more greans in regulation than ever before.

Best buy i've ever made.

I have tried numerous drivers in the past, but the Titleist 975J VS is by far the best driver that Titleist has ever made. I have played with the 975J VS for the past 6 years, and have been completely happy with the results. I am able to work the ball and am hitting the ball as far as I have ever hit it. The sound and feel are solid, not the horrible sound that all other drivers make. I now own two of these drivers. I have one for back-up. The shaft in both drivers is a Graphite Design Stiff, this is also a great shaft. I have tried the new 909D3 & D2, they are not as good.

I went to Dick's Sporting Goods to test the 2009 drivers. For a few dollars they will let you try any and all of their clubs, including Nike, TaylorMade, Cleveland, Callaway, and etc. They don't cary Ping or Nickent, so I can't comment on these.
I took my 975J-vs as a baseline and bottom line was nothing they were selling was any better and most were worse. My swing speed averaged 95 mph and ball velocity was 140mph with the 975J-vs. The salesman said that the 975 models were the last good drivers from Titleist, and I tend to agree. I had a 905R and 905T and sold them both. Both of my 975's have the Ultralite shaft in stiff, and both have a sweet sound when you connect.

Still one of the best products ever put out by Titleist. YS6 shaft is perfect for this club. Trajectory is perfect. Beautifully built product.

I purchased a new 975 J driver a couple of months ago and I saw an immediate difference. The lightweight stiff graphite shaft, coupled with a Pro V ball
gave me 20 to 35 yards more. Finding a driver that you're happy with is hard enough, but finding a lefthanded one used to be almost impossible. I liked the J driver so much, I found this 975 VS driver for a very good price and
purchased it just as a back up. I love the pear shaped head and didn't want
a giant headed one, like most on the market today. I used to play Toney Penna
persimmon woods( a long time ago) and this driver reminds me of those heads.
I tried a friend's Taylor Burner and that head was just to big, it didn't fit my eye. I love these 975s and am very happy with the purchase.
