Pleasant Surprise-Titleist Driver Retains Distance 4 Me

Coming off of the 975J & TM540xd both w/YS6 Shafts. I wanted to update my driving gear, and I have favored Titleist. I went with w/905T 9.5* for the price, the 400cc, shallow-faced, bore flight and the YS6 shaft. My swing can be described as a very slow take away, only 3/4 backswing with smooth acceleration coming down into impact. It is a swing that is so compact and limited, one cannot imagine that any distance can be obtained. However, I will say with the right equipment this driver not only compensated for my flawed swing, but improved my distance and flight. Lets forget the smoke up your posterior regarding the boasted yardage...Im at sea level, and it is straighter and a tad longer than my other drivers. The SOUND AT IMPACT is a "CLACK" not a ting, ping, pop or a reverb garbage can. It doesn't sound cheap or tinny. THE FLIGHT PATH...even with my swing, it bores into a mid flight tight as a string, reaching its peak, and decends its flight forward...another words, the ball does not die and drop after its peak, like the XD540. TOLORANCE of MISHITS...towards the toe still rewards me better than what I deserved. Bottom of face has cost me dearly, gots to tee it up. INTO THE WIND 10mph headwind...very little effect. I was taken by the way the ball drills into the wind with still good distance. I have read in other feedbacks that this driver is ment for those who has a swing that is consistant...I will agree with the statement...If you new into golf, you will not be able to appreciate this equipment, try Callaway. If your like me, and only get out on a course maybe once a month, but still have a swing, there is no better equalizer than this cannon. DRAWBACKS...Very Important! You cannot reshaft this driver and other 905 models in the traditional fashion. The shaft CAN be installed by someone who knows what they are doing, and I frown at Titleist for creating such a hosel setup that limits the typical average guy in doing his own reshafting. OVERALL...I made the right move to this driver. It gives me what I was looking for...Looks, Sound, Feel at Impact, Flight, Forgiveness, and Distance that makes this Bogey player feel like a Single Digit off the Tee Box. This 905T head does what it does so well with the right shaft that suits me. Thats why I favor the YS6 (Old Label) for the engine. I will miss dearly my 975J driver...she still flies better than the 540xd, but comes a tad shy of overall performance compared to the 905T...If you have reached this far into this review, then I would say that this 905T driver is for you. Thanks for your time.
