Titleist 905S Driver 9.5 - Fujikura Speeder Stiff shaft
Review created: 06/03/06

The 905S is superior to the 905T in that it has a deeper face. This means it has a taller face than the 905T so you can tee the ball up higher. With the ball on a very high tee it's much easier to hit the ball on the upswing and give it ideal launch.

The true power of the club comes from the shaft. The Speeder shaft plays very soft. It truly is a Stiff --- but it plays soft. That means you can feel the shaft load on the backswing and, on really good swings, unload on the follow thru.

If you want a solid-sounding, soft feeling driver go ahead and buy whatever head on the Speeder shaft. If you struggle catching the center of the face - get the 905T. If you want to work the ball - get the 905S. If you want both and don't mind a HUGE head - get the 905R.

Best driver I have ever hit

I love this club. I put an 86 gram, x-flex, V2 shaft and this is the best driver I have ever hit. Even though it is large, you can still work the ball either way with confidence. Distance is probably 10-15 longer than my old 983E. This club sets up square and has the great Titleist pear shaped head. I've gained a little distance and now hit a few more fairways each round.

I would recommend this club for any good player who is looking to have the forgivness of the larger club head, but still maintain the low boring trajectory and the ability to work the ball.

I would not recommend this club for players seeking a higher ball flight, or players with below average club head speeds. They may be better off with the 905R.

Titleist 905S driver, Fujikura Speeder Stiff
Review created: 07/03/06

Excellent club. The ball comes off with a mid launch angle that bores through the air nicely. The Fujikura shaft has that nice "kick" they are famous for that lets you know when you've delivered a good, powerful swing to the ball. The club head doesn't baloon shots because it's designed to have reduced spin on the ball. If you have a high swing speed or generate a lot of spin off the tee, this is an excellent driver choice. Be sure to get the Speeder shaft if you want the best combination of control & distance.

My all time favorite driver. Solid club with a good sound, great appearance and great distance with control. The head size is not to big but still forgiving it is just right. The deep face gives me lots of confidence.

  Titleist 905s 8.5 Driver - Titanium
Review created: 02/05/09

The 905S Titleist driver is a 400cc club that looks at address. The 8.5 degree loft creates a lower trajectory which is fantastic on windy days and give you extra roll which I didn't get from my old driver. This club is great for shaping shots and is forgiving on an off center hit.
I'd recommend this club for the low-mid handicap player and those who hit high drives that just stop where they land. The Grafolly Blue stiff shaft is a perfect match for this clubhead.

  Titleist is the BEST

I bought this Titleist driver and had to immediately swap out the shaft in it because it was only 43.5 inches long! It came with a Fujikura Speeder (Stiff) and I put in a UST 65 Stiff shaft. I am a HIGH hitter, and this 8.5 degree club with the high kick point UST really lowers my ball flight. Moderate to low spin on drives, straight, and LONG! I can shape shots quite well and recommend this driver to anyone who is a 1-15 handicap with a faster swing speed.

The only negative of this driver is the forgiveness factor. You don't have a large margin of error - if you miss the sweet spot you will know it. The ball will not go nearly as far.... Overall, a 9 out of 10 driver! I love it.

  Titleist 905S Driver review

I purchased this driver to gain some technology over my Titleist 983E driver that was about 5 years old. The Graffaloy Blue (stiff) shaft in the newer 905S is lighter than the Fujikura (stiff) that I have in the 983, and the 905S is easier to hit overall than the 983E. The distance I get from both drivers is about the same. I'm a 3 handicap and average about 275-290 when I rip it off the tee. The thing is...I don't rip it everytime, and when I make a bad swing, the mishits go farther with the newer 905.
I've only played in two tournaments since the purchase, but I am very pleased with the performance thus far.

Best driver I own, believe me I have 6 other drivers sitting in the closet. This driver gives me a better ball flight resulting in about 10 more yards in distance because of the roll out. My other drivers gave me a higher ball flight with no roll out after landing.

Great club, great service. Tried a similar club and liked the results. I went to a local golf shop, but the price was too steep, so I checked on ebay. There were several auctions of similar clubs. I just jumped in and made a good bid, saving over a hundred dollars off the store price. The club arrived as advertised and i love what a difference it made to my game/score.

  Thumbs up for the 905S
Review created: 06/19/08

I am a 2 handicap and I can work the ball with most drivers. The 905S allows me to be more aggressive without magnifying my misses, don't get me wrong, I can still hit it a mile in the bush, but the predictable ball flight builds confidence! If I could find a putter that I felt this comfortable with, I could go as low as any scratch from time to time. If you hit this club in the sweetspot and it doesn't produce, have the club checked! If you can't hit the club in the sweetspot, have your swing checked!! Good luck, be patient, and enjoy the greatest game ever invented!! Marc B.

I rated this club an overall average. The club has a good looking low profile but I did not have a good feel when striking the ball. It was a ho hum club. Nothing outstanding about the sound or feel. I could shape shots. I didn't get the hot off the face thing. Fair club if you don't want to spend to much.

Beware of sellers items with no pictures
Review created: 10/05/09

Sellers with no picture and very little feedback...no matter how long they have been members. They are very risky to buy from like what happen to me on a 905s driver. The driver was a demo and in very poor condition..... know mention of it in the describe add... never the less......Driver was listed as hit VERY LITTLE IN GREAT CONDITION! Look, go with sellers who have current feedback and with a 100 or more transactions in the last year with pictures.

  Request pictures from every angle
Review created: 06/07/09

I bought this club for a good price, but the grip was shredded when I received it. Looking back at the listing, there weren't any pictures of the grip. Note to golf club buyers - if there aren't any pictures of a certain part of the club (grip, shaft, face, sole, etc), the seller might be trying to hide something. Ask for additional pictures.

The club is great. The stiff Gafalloy Blue Shaft is perfect, and the control is amazing. I was using a few different drivers and heard good things about this particular shaft. I can definitely feel the clubhead with this driver and will keep it for a long time.

Titleist 905S Driver Good Low and Far launch
Review created: 10/08/08

I love it. Recent 460cc driver is too big for me. This Titleist 905S has 400cc head and Lower trajectory, Lower spin than 905T the same 400cc Titleist driver. This allows me to drive farther and more accurate tee shots.

  Nice Club
Review created: 09/03/08

I really like the feel of this driver. I really liked the launch angle of the driver. With the Grafalloy Blue stiff shaft and driver head, I could get the medium launch and it would seem to just go forever. It was really easy to control (draw, slice) whenever need be and it seemed to be extremely long. I loved the sound the driver made. Seemed to be not to loud and not muted and just seemed so strong at impact. Great club and highly recommend it to everyone.

If you are ever in doubt about which OEM driver to get buy Titleist--with a high end shaft. Thats it. It's all over.If you can't hit a Titleist driver with the appropriate shaft then accept sucking----take lessons and get your swing right---or give it up.

  905-S with a Speeder shaft
Review created: 03/18/08
by:

I've tried a few drivers: Cobra SZ, Nike Ignite, Taylormade R7 400/425 models, the Titleist 983K, 983E and finally the 905S. Out of all of them the 905S is the one to stay in the bag.

I can hit the 905S on the heel or the bottom part of the club and still get a decent hit out of it. I can't recall that kind of forgiveness on any other driver I've ever owned.

I bought my original one because I thought the advertised lower spin and boring trajectory would help straighten out my mile high drives. I dunno, I still hit it high so into the wind shots still hurt me, and I can still miss a fairway by a few football fields, but that's hardly the club's fault.

Anyways, I love the driver and other than changing flexes I can't really see myself ever getting rid of it. The fact that it doesn't ping really loud like others (Cobra) is another reason I got it. I hate that loud high pitch sound, hurts my ears.

I thought it was a player's driver but with how bad I've missed it at times, I'm not so sure anymore. Doesn't make it less awesome, in fact the opposite. When I'm swinging well it goes forever, when I miss horribly it still goes ok.

  905S Titleist NV65 Stiff
Review created: 03/17/08
by:

The year is 2008 and the golf season has started. Included in the top drivers in my opinion, is the 905S. I can't say enough about it. I own a 905R with a Speeder 757 stiff and a Taylormade R7 425 with a Stealth 70 stiff and the 905S is just as long if not longer and it is also easier to work the ball. I still driver the ball around 230 to 240 through the air with a roll out to 240-260 yards. The 905S is truly a great club and reduces my ball spin significantly compared to the other clubs. I can occasionally roll it out to 270-280. These numbers are not wind aided.
