I have owned and played these irons for almost 2 years. I'm an 8 handicap, and have been playing seriously for 30 years. Let me first start by saying I've played maybe 30 sets of irons in 30 years. I've tended to play Pings more than anything, and had a set of Ping I5 irons prior to owning these.

Regarding foregiveness, I rank these as equal to the Ping I5's, which most people would have a hard time believing. I have not lost any foregiveness in switching to these clubs. I rarely notice hitting a shot that I can tell would have been better if I had the Pings. The clubs aren't perfect-I know when I make a bad swing, but when I miss the sweetspot, rarely do I hit the shot badly enough to get into trouble (primarily failing to clear a front bunker).

From a playability standpoint, these clubs shine. I can work the ball right to left and a little bit from left to right (I primarily draw the ball). I could never fade a Ping iron. In addition, I don't hit that many shots that just lose control-meaning flying well past my target like I did with the Pings. Cast clubs are notorious for having "hot spots" on the face. I feel like I have much more control with these irons. In addition, the slightly smaller blades and thinner soles make the club more versatile from tight lies without giving up that much from grassy lies in the rough.

I truly believe that a player who is as high as a 15 handicap and is serious about improving their game should give these clubs a try.

A step in the right direction

A step in the right direction for Acushnet. Steering away from the dated designes of the 900 series. These clubs offer an new technology found in the forging process, that allows them to utilize a thinner face and bolster the back of the head with an attrative dampening chip. The redistributed weight is now used where it can do the most good. The average player now has a modern club with feature found in more expensive modles. This is a well designed club. Comfortable to swing, with predictable results.

  Great Mid Handicap Irons
Review created: 06/30/08
by:
5 of 5 people found this review helpful.

I was looking for a high quality mid handicap iron set and decided to purchase these clubs even though they are last years model. I previously played a blade, which was probably too advanced for my skill level. So far I am pleased with these clubs, but I have noticed the following differences from other clubs I have used.

-Irons are 1 club shorter, but straighter and more forgiving than my previous clubs.

-Miss hits have a little vibration so you know it was a miss hit, but the result is not harsh (maybe a little left or right movement and generally 1-2 clubs shorter depending on how bad the miss hit was).

-I found these mid sized heads more difficult to hit from the rough than my old blades that cut through the grass easier. This is something I will have to get used to.

-The PW is a bit stronger than my old PW, so I am working on my touch and I have been using my 56* wedge for some shots under 30 yards.

Overall, I would recommend these clubs to mid handicap golfers, but I would recommend hitting these clubs (or any clubs) at a golf shop first to see if you like them.

Titleist 755 Forged Iron set 4-pw stiff steel tri spec

Great feel. Lines up like a blade but has a cavity back. Very solid club's. This set is great for the person who is taking their game to next level. This is a great set when your game is transforming from high handicap 15plus to a mid handicap 10-15. I would go for it if your game is transforming like mine did. Good luck.

Titleist 755 Forged Iron set Golf Club

The Titleist 755 was created for the mid-handicapper (7-15) who is seeking a players iron but needs the forgiveness of a game improvement iron. With heel-toe weighting and a deep cavity back and a low center of gravity this is one of the most forgiving irons Titleist has ever created. They were designed for a straight ball flight but can be worked right or left to some degree. And as with all Titleist irons they look great at address while inspiring confidence to make that needed shot. Anyone looking to take their game to the next level would enjoy playing these irons.

I would love to tell you how much I love my clubs but I never got them, and have filed a claim with paypal. This sellers rating was in the 90's when I won the auction and is now in the 60's and she has hoodwinked numerous other buyers as you EBAY let her continue to sell products......BRAVO

Titleist 755 with ACCRA 80i Graphite Shafts
Review created: 07/11/07
3 of 5 people found this review helpful.

The Titleist 755 heads work great with the ACCRA 80i graphite shafts. The swing weights come in around C8 which seems light but my clubhead speed is way up. That means more distance. I am at least 1 club longer than with the traditional steel shafts. My 8 iron flies 155-160 vs 145 or so before. The feel of the graphite shafts are much less harsh than steel.

If you get the opportunity to try out this combo, do not pass it up.

these irons are soft...forgiving...and solid! i got lucky, as, they had been adjusted 1.5 degrees flat to my swing. i wanted to stay with forged clubs, as, i've been playing blades for 40 yrs, and these are the trick.

  Titleist 755 - awesome irons
Review created: 02/18/08

These are the smoothest and most foregiving irons I have ever used. The first round I tried them knocked 8 strokes from my score. I'm a senior and normally shoot in the mid to high nineties, but scored an 88 with a 40 on the back nine. I used to mishit and shank short irons, but no longer. Also getting about 10 yards more distance compared to my Ping eye2's. Couldn't believe the difference and looking forward to another round this week. Price was a little more than half what you would pay at the golf shops and the condition was accurately described as "handled but not hit", or about as close to new as you can get.

A decent playable set of irons. Look good at address. Only thing I did not like about them was that all shots good and bad felt similar. Not much feedback to let you know how your swinging. My opinion a good forged club for the higher handicap player. These would be a good game improvement set. Played mine a couple weeks and moved on. I like to know when I hit a poor shot besides just visually.

Sets up nice, easy to work the ball, but I have lost 10 yards distance compared to my Ping G5s. Although they are forged, they do not have the soft feel of some forged irons I have used.

  Titleist 755 Forged Irons

First of all, I'm coming off a set of older DCI's. 765 I think they are. These clubs are nice. The ones I purchased came with the Titleist Stiff shafts. Going off the charts i've read, if you hit an 8 iron approx 150 yds. then stiff is your club. I disagree. These irons were hard for me to reach there full yardage potential. When you hit them good, they go, and they have nice control. I think I got a little too excited to try new clubs, and realized I am not that good. haha. Harder to hit, but definately more playable than my older DCI's. Have been getting better with them though. Cheers.

Very solid...consistent shot after shot. I love the feel and workability of these clubs. I think they have a large sweet spot but on my "infrequent" mis-hits they give me excellent feedback.

Easy to strike the ball well with these clubs. Great for the average golfer with 10-24 handicap. not much room to work ball, but mishits are not overly punished.

These clubs are awesome! I've been playing the DCI OS's for about 12 years....these are, of course, better technology and have a better feel to them.
I've always played Titelist so I can't compare them to any other brand.

  Titleist 755 Forged Irons

The 755 irons have long been one of my favorite sets. I prefer forged over cast for better feel, the top line is not too thick, and the traditional head shape appeals to me more than the new big heads. This set has the light weight Nippon steel shafts that are perfect for me. The set I got on eBay also has the upgraded Golf Pride dual density cord grips that the best made. I'm very happy with this set.

These are some of the straightest irons I have ever hit. Even on mishits, the ball still travels to an area that is manageable. These forged irons also combine good feel with sleek, stylish looks. Another quality product from Titleist.

Titleist got this set of irons just right , a players set of irons that low or mid handy caps can play . Sweet feel of forged , very forgiving for a players iron
no stingers on miss hits just some loss of distance . Ball flight is a little on the high side . Where this set shines is how accurate they are , real pin seekers
never had some many kick in birdies . Not the longest set I have played but the lofts are standard and not jacked up. Bottom line LOVE THESE IRONS.

Feel of AP2s for a fraction of the price
Review created: 11/07/09
by:

These 755 forged irons are a great set of clubs for players looking to add workability, forgiveness and feel to their bag. The irons now about 4 years old are a great alternative for a player looking to add quality Titleist cavity back forged irons into their bag at a fraction of what the AP2 Irons sell for. The top line of these irons give a very comforting and classical look. If you are have always wanted Titleist forged irons like I have and don't have the money to dish out for a set of AP2s, these irons are a great alternative.
