Timeless [Digipak] by Sergio Mendes (CD, Feb-2006, Concord Records USA)

I'm an old-time Sergio Mendes fan (at age 53, I remember him from way back when!) and thought I'd like this updated version of his music - unfortunately, it's got too much rap/hip-hop and other "young" stuff that to me just detracts from the wonderful Brasilian music. I'd pass on this if you like his original sound, or jump on it if you're into more modern music!

First saw video to song called "Heat". Purchased cd. Found other artist on the cd that were wonderful additions to many cuts on the finished product. Enjoyed it!

It is a great CD in excellent conditon I am glad I bought it from a trustworthy seller at a good price

Maybe I'm just not old enough to really appreciate what sergio mendes has done through his career, but I expected a lot more from this album.

There are a few tracks which sound amazing and I have had them on constant repeat for weeks! However, there doesn't seem to be that much effort in making some of the songs sound more modern (i thought that was the whole point of the album!).

The first (Mas Que Nada - featured in the Nike Joga Bonito Commerciala) and last songs are my two favourites and there are a few good bits in between.

A really good album to chill out too and appreciate good music, but with the collaboration with Will-I-Am of the Black Eyed Peas, I expected an upbeat album but it just didn't quite meet my expectations.

I love the colaboration of various artists on this CD. I enjoy Samba music. I had the CD when it first hit the shelves for sale and then my 16 yr. old took possesion of it and ruin it in the process. I'm glad I was able to obtain this CD once again for my collection.

This is a great CD blending the timeless sounds of Sergio Mendes with a new hip hop sound provided by the crew from Black Eyed Peas, Erykah Badu, Stevie Wonder and more. Great CD for hanging out with friends on those lazy summer days!

When I happened to come across this album I was excited. I love Sergio Mendes' and what he has brought to Samba music incorporating the rhythms and beats superbly! And then to add the Black Eyed Peas to that - talk about the brink of pure success. Needless to say I wasn't disappointed. I love all of the tracks on the album from Mas Que Nada to the Heat. You have the talents of John Legend, Indie.Arie and Justin Timberlake to the mixture as if it needed any more with the Black Eyed Peas and you can't help but play this album over and over again!

there are pretty good reviews here, so all i'm going to say is that this cd brings samba and latin rythms from the past and gives them modern grooves and styles by adding several artists such as justin timberlake, india.arie, and stevie wonder. its like a latin music cd that can be heard while hanging out with friends

Timeless would certainly describe Sergio and his ability to continue to make great music with others. The music Sergio's band plays is so fantastic you think they just couldn't get any better. WillIAm ( the blackeyed peas man )is the initiator of this project i am told. He has been a great fan for years. What an opportunity to hear others sing with this very dancable,samba like music. Mas Que Nada is the samba song with a little hip-hop style added. From there - every song is graced by a new vocalist or band, like - Erakah Badu, Stevie Wonder, Q-Tip and Will.I.Am, Mr. Vegas, Jill Scott, John Legend, Marcelo D2, India Arie, Justin Timberlake, Guinga and Marcelo D2, Maogani Quartet, Black Thought of the Roots, and who knows who else!! What a true gift in this hugely talented Sergio Mendes CD with so much talent added.

Reecording is not too good - music not as it was advertized to be. I thought it was going to be a Sergio hits - but not at all.

The service was terrific . Fast delivery. Everyone should buy this cd.It is family friendly. The fusion of rap and Brazilian pop, samba, boss nova piano all mix into one is great and the various artists coming along so smoothly.

this cd is is awsome! if you like hip hop, jazz, samba, r&b then you need to buy this cd, it has all of this and more,highly recommended
